We attended on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy and there was but one waitress working. She was doing a fantastic job! But there were a lot of people. The crowd thinned out before we left and she had a chance to catch her breath. The fried shrimp, fish and chicken were fantastic. The hush puppies were terrible lol We could not eat them. But everything else was fine and the service was great We will go back again and recommend this location to anybody. It sets on the Chickahominy River and it's just a beautiful place to sit there and relax and eat.
We had a large group for my daughter’s graduation. The food was delicious and the waitress was so nice and very attentive. Everyone had a great time. Will definitely be back soon. If you need a great place to eat or have a large group this is the place to go.
We’ve been coming to blue heron for many years, but I think the new smaller menu is much better. If you can get Amber, she is amazing! They can run out of stuff on busy weekends, but that comes with the territory around here. Worth checking out on slower to moderate days, or just go grab a drink.
My girlfriend and I went to The Blue Heron Friday night, and we were blown away by Amber's fantastic service. Her friendly vibe and menu tips made our night extra special. P.S. the blue heron cocktail is to die for! Amber kept everything running smoothly, and her upbeat attitude made us feel right at home. If you want top-notch service and delicious seafood on the river, head over here and ask for Amber! We will be coming back to visit soon!
The view from the patio is nice but it could use a good cleaning. The chairs were the absolute worst though, super uncomfortable. Food and drinks were very good. We had the Blue Heron cocktail, house white wine, fried pickles, Cajun pasta and the seafood platter. The hushpuppies were not good and very dry but everything else was great.
Daughter and Son in Law took us to dinner tonight 5/4/2024. We used the Water Uber as I called it Piloted by Mr. Charlie Brown.
Food was excellent. Wife and I had the Crab Cake Sandwich and it was loaded with Crab and cooked perfectly. Daughter had the Seafood Platter and said it was also excellent. Son in Law had the Shrimp Po boy and said the same about it. Service was great and had a table by the window!!
Will go back and Highly Recommend it!!!
On vacation and we ate here twice. First night was for my birthday. Food was so good! Loved the outdoor seating by the water. The view is amazing. They had music both nights. We played cornhole before and after dinner. Can't say enough great things about the atmosphere. The first night we ordered from a menu. The second night we did have to scan the QR code to order. We didn't have a problem. Don't let that stop you from eating here!
Let me start by saying how phenomenal our server Felicia was. We were actually staying at the resort and had ate lunch and dinner here. Felicia is so sweet, informative,kind,generous,funny & a fabulous waitress. She waited on us both times on the deck. I cannot wait to go back again for the beautiful view and the phenomenal service. I highly recommend Felicia when you go in.
