Good place for authentic Chinese dim sum those they are kind of pricey. The taste of them is good. We also ordered the traditional need with flat noodles. We can tell from the dish that they don't know how to make traditional HK style food. The beef with noodles came with thinner noodles with eggg and the beef is kind of chewy plus it lacks soy sauce. It's not the one that you order in most restaurants even in the US. However, the place is probably good for having US style Chinese food.
I love coming here for hot pot. Or anything else they serve, really. It feels and tastes like genuine, authentic Chinese food, not the Americanized version. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Great location and good hours.
The service was great. Restaurant is quiet and cozy. Great for a date night or for larger groups or for families. The Hot Pot selections are exceptional. It is especially good if you have people with varying tastes and dietary needs...vegan, gluten free, meat lovers, etc. The menu is huge with so many delicious selections and the prices are in line with the generous portions. Location is good with ample parking.
Experience the “hot pot”! I was under the misconception that Black Pearl was just another run-of-the-mill Chinese food restaurant. I had no idea of they offered the hot pot menu option. This option is very similar to the fondue experience. The server brings a boiling hot pot of broth on a burner to your table which you use to cook Asian cuisine veggies and meats. I recommend trying the cabbage, lamb, shrimp and lotus root. The prices were reasonable and the platter could easily feed a small group. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to mix up dinner and try something new!
Black mushroom (shiitake) with baby bok choy, they call bok choy as chinese turnip for vegetarian, sauteed with garlic. Xin Jiang Market Lamb contain lamb with bone, black fungus, baby bok choy, carrot, sweet wide onion leaves (don't know what its name), wide rice noodle, sliced garlic with spicy condiment but not hot, with raw small onion leaves and cilantro on top. Big size, enough for 2 persons. This is an excellent menu from Xin Jiang province in northwest China.
Our new fave chinese place in town. Everything had excellent flavor. Recommend ordering from the traditional chinese menu.
Ate from the weekend dim sum menu, felt like I got a great value. Between my buddy and I we tried 5 different things and still got out under $20 (with tip included). Shrimp stuff was kinda rubbery, but the pork buns were delicious. Wait staff was polite, helpful, and courteous. Looking forward to heading back with my family and trying some different new things.
There are three different parts of the menu. Order from the traditional Americanized Chinese food section and you won't be disappointed. However, the section with the more authentic Chinese dishes is fabulous and of course my favorite is their Dim Sum menu. However, if you're ordering Dim Sum during the week instead of in the weekends when they do the whole cart thing, make sure that you have plenty of time. During the week they do need to freshly steam every Dim Sum dish as it's ordered and this will take time. Usually, at least 20 minutes to get your selections. On the weekends, lunch hours, they have all of it already prepared and you make your selections from the carts being wheeled around the room. Hence, no wait. This location also does the hot pot. Definitely a unique and delicious experience.
