One of the nicest areas we saw during our California vacation .
We were trilled to see how residences / rental homes front steps were built right up to the beach.
The sand and the beach itself was sublime
There were bike rentals and nice restaurants and the parking cost was reasonable with it being free after 6pm
We wish we had more time to spend there .
Traveled to San Diego from LA and decided to stop here on our way back. There’s a decent amount of parking space available. Great spot to stop for a lunch break and perfect for renting a bike to go up and down the coast. It wasn’t as crowded so it was very enjoyable. We got electric bikes and went along the entire beach line all the way up to the jetty view point. Overall, nice pier and would stop here again.
Nice beach to ride a bike, swimming, playing on the beach or fishing. You can play all day from quiet morning to crowded sunset. Or wake up very early to line up at the fish market to buy fresh fish, shrimp or maybe lobsters… Parking is always full. Be patient to find a parking lot.
I really admire the way the peer is to people you can see ???? hear and tell its people and the way they walk

This is such a beautiful beach. I've lived by the ocean in Northern Cali and this one is my new favorite! There was a small farmers market. Got to see lifeguard training while visiting.
Beautiful and clean beach!! I was very impressed with his clean the beach was. Very different from Santa Monica beach and pier. Very vibrant and cool atmosphere. Lots of families and and a very festive vibe. City of Newport has created a nice beach and pier.
Loved my early-morning visit to the pier. Gorgeous views of the ocean, much improved with croissants ???? collected from 24-hr Seaside Donuts Bakery just a few hundred steps away.
The pier is very clean and not crowded at all. This is the best one around the LA area in my opinion. It is nice to see the waves breaking from here.
