This is my favorite spot right in town, and I'm usually picky about pizza. It's yummy American style pizza: hot, fresh, fast, good service. You always know what to expect. It's cooked just right and never over or under done. No soggy crusts and just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The sauce is tasty and the pizzas and calzones are all great. The only thing I would skip is the mozzarella sticks, since they can be a bit bready.
It's a small town restaurant serving up a few Italian-American favorites.
Service took much longer than a hungry family would like, but not an unreasonable amount of time. We visited when they were slammed with take-out AND dine-in orders.
Food was delicious, although there were a couple items we could not order due to them having run out of said items (chicken wings being the one I remember).
Friendly service.
I would definitely go back, but maybe not on a Saturday night when the family is ravenous (and impatient).
Solid pizza joint.
While the toppings were sliced real thin, they were plentiful and didn't roll off the pizza.
Great crust, browned well with cheese browned atop the crust too.
Decent sized portions for eating dinners in.
I have lived in Waterbury for seven years right near the restaurant. I've had my share of ups and downs with the place and I have been reinforced in my decision to stop going. In earlier years (5-7~ years) ago, the food was decent. We would always have to order extra cheese to get the right amount on pizza but service and quality was pretty good. Sub 4 years ago, it seems to have really crumbled. Every time we order, something is wrong. The pizza is underdone, ingredients are missing, food is cold, or the phone service is rushed and unfriendly. I stopped going regularly and have placed maybe 1-2 orders each year since quality has stalled. Each time, I am reminded why I go into town to eat at the former Blue Stone, now Stone's Throw Pizza, even with this location being a less than 5 minute walk from my home. I'm completely understanding the "post pandemic" workforce has impacted many businesses, but this seems to be a consistent issue across multiple years at this point. Tonight's order was so close to being done, yet was missing the turkey on my meat salad ($3~ price difference from the mozzarella salad). I assume they pulled a pre-made from the fridge and just forgot? Not sure. I'm just over it at this point and will make the extra few minute trip into town for better quality and consistency.
Classic house style pizza. Can never really go wrong with that. I decided to try out the wings and they had a nice taste to them. Lots of other food offered and everyone in the place seemed happy about what they had. The phone was ringing and people were in and out of the door.
The food was horrible, I waited 20 minutes for pizza they took out of the freezer. Just for them to tell me that they didn’t have the right slices in the freezer inventory.
And as if that wasn’t enough the pizza was so bad and the garlic nuts were so incredibly oily.
Atmosphere was ok, mostly elderly. Will not be stopping here again. Bad food goes in the trash.
Unable to speak to atmosphere as I had it delivered.
I am pleasantly surprised by this place! I love that while being in a hotel I could order any pizza as an individual size so I didn’t need to worry about transporting or wasting leftovers, my friend and I could try two different styles and not be over full or break the bank, and it was warm and fresh!!
Although they don’t post their deserts online they do offer them. Loved the uniqueness of the hot fudge cheesecake.
Pizza was nice and fresh, great price too
