Came here for an anniversary night. Staff was great Apollo upgraded our room when found out we were celebrating. We swam in the pool which so warm and nice. I think it was salt water. Check in and out was a breeze. Only sad that the restaurant was closed the night we came. Also I appreciated the staff's honesty. I accidentally left a high value item in our room. The cleaning people found it and the hotel staff locked it up for me until I could come claim it. So grateful!
I stayed here because it was the closest hotel to St. Barnabas Medical Center where my wife was having a kidney transplant. It was adequate enough but the furniture was worn and the room could use as serious deep clean. ||Watermarks on the shower door for example. The drawers in the desk, dresser, and night tables were absolutely filthy - fortunately I didn't need to use them. The air conditioner and refrigerator were not working up to par. ||The most disturbing thing was the other guests staying in the hotel. One night I came across a couple that was so drunk they were hanging onto each other and wabling down the hallway. I stayed far behind them and let them go into the elevator first. When I approached the elevator the hallway reeked of alcohol. As I was leaving there was a woman roaming around just in front of the hotel smoking a cigarette and mumbling to herself. There was a no smoking within 25 feet of the building sign. Imagine if I showed up at the hospital reeking of cigarette smoke. They wouldn't have let me in to see my wife. ||I came across several other rather disturbing guests but I was just coming and going from my room to the hospital and back. I know that there is only so much a hotel can do about other guests but there is a responsibility for the safety of all of its guests. I definitely did not feel safe and checked out a day early. Guest beware!
From the moment we entered and walked toward the front desk, we were greeted with smiles and welcoming remarks from, Apollo, the front desk clerk at the time. Mecene, was very kind, and helpful to our needs throughout the duration of our stay as well. I will definitely revisit and/or recommend this hotel because of all the friendly, courteous staff here.
I just spent a 3 night long weekend stay at the hotel and feel the need to recognize some the staff we encountered for their exemplary service. ||Starting with Jennifer who checked us in on Thursday evening and let us into the pool a couple of times on Friday …. and Teresa who replenished us with extra shampoo and conditioner and checked us out on Sunday, … and Jim the engineer who got us squared away with extra room lighting and a fridge … and going above and beyond and bringing us an extra suitcase stand and … Corrin also at the front desk who was so pleasant and found us some magnets to keep our room unlocked and …. Ivan who on Saturday night helped us get extra towels and just about everyone we saw in the hallways who exemplified hospitality and the “happy to help you” attitude. Our stay couldn’t have been better. ... And the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean ... it was a delightful stay
Positive: The staff is so kind and accomadating. Plus the location is great, everything is so clean and feels homey. FAVORITE HOTEL in New Jersey hands down. Negative: This isn't a complaint, i just wake up late so I kept missing breakfast. I would love if they stayed open a bit later for those of us late morning risers. Especially when on vacation :) Negative: ""
Not the greatest hotel.
Dirty dirty carpets - sheets that are anything short of “white” and lots of random things that show a lack of detail or care.
I was staying here for work. The gym is minimal - one day it had No water in the fridge - the sink was clogged (a coworker shared similar concerns) - and paper thin walls.
When I requested service in the middle of 6-night stay they didn’t clean the room, which was disappointing.
Also a very early checkout. Not everyone is up and out at 10am for a hotel that isn’t fully booked day after….
Loved it here. Great staff, lovely bar on site. Beautiful pool. Room was clean and comfortable. The fitness center was great. Only wish there was a microwave in the room... also TV could use an upgrade, very old and outdated and even had lines going through the picture.
It’s not the nicest hotel out there, but I have seen worse. For the price you pay, I would expect a little more but all in all, a really great hotel. I went with a large group of people over the weekend. There were a lot of kids and none of the staff members ever lost their cool when kids were loud and running around. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful with anything I needed. Housekeeping was nice and bought us things we requested. I had a great experience here.
