Our first time trying Casa Raya, we were not disappointed. We were promptly seated, chips and salsa immediately brought to the table. She took our drink order and quickly returned with them. We needed a little more time to look over the menu. She returned to take our food order within a few minutes. I decided on the Raya Fajitas. Food was on our table in about 15 minutes. Everything was as delicious as it looked. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The guacamole had the perfect balance of flavors. We are definitely fans and looking forward to trying other menu items in the near future.
Our "one and only" complaint has nothing to do with the food or the service. We were almost finished with our meal when an overpowering perfume smell took over the area. It turned out someone had lit an incense up by the register. As a person with asthma, some strong smells have the potential to trigger an asthma attack. Fortunately there was not any issue. I will say this was the first time I have experienced a food establishment burning incense.
The starter chips and salsa were outstanding! Give me those and a few beers and I’m good.
Ordered the carnitas plate that was also very good. The service was a little thin tonight my server was covering the whole restaurant so he was working it.
If in the area, I would come back.
Note there’s a charge if you are using a card.
So so so good! Came with my sister for the first time and it definitely won't be the last time I come. Food was fresh and tasted like authentic Mexican food which I loved! Haven't been able to find that around here ever. Whatever you guys are doing keep doing it because you've created a diamond for this area ????????????????
Went after watching the Eclipse to mitigate sitting in traffic, and boy were we glad we did!
Food was stellar, the cheesy burrito with crinkle fries was a favorite. The staff were attentive and kind - even asking which toys we got from their vending machine.
The margarita tower served my 6-person group one each with a little to spare. I think it was like 15 dollars at happy hour. At many places that's the price of one margarita, and this one was so good!
Whenever I travel to (or through) Mt. Vernon, I will definitely try to stop at this place again.
Have had many meals here and always have a great time! The food is fantastic, service is wonderful and price is good. The staff makes us feel welcome everytime..I love going here ♥️♥️♥️
My wife found Casa Raya on google while looking for a place for us to have dinner while on a long road trip. It was exactly what we were hoping to find and much better than we expected. We had different kinds of taco plates, Mexican guacamole, shrimp ceviche, and of course the complementary chips and salsa. The food was fantastic, the amounts were generous, the service efficient, and prices very fair for the quality and quantity. We make this trip from time to time and have found our go-to restaurant for lunch or dinner whenever we are passing through—and will plan out trip accordingly.
You pay for it, but you get your money's worth in food quality and quantity. By far, some of the better menus that I have sampled and fairly priced.
Very friendly staff every time, even when busy.
Came at dinnertime and had to wait to be seated and order. Miami vice drinks were delicious as well as the dorito-loco ( nachos with doritos). The gorditos were ok.
Would recommend.
