One of the best views in the Copper Harbor area, and a very scenic drive-to location too. There are multiple lookout points all along the road that crosses Brockway, and the sights are stunning! It's always on my list when I drive out around that area, and an excellent location to watch the northern lights from. There are also some good trails that run around the area.
A beautiful drive up, Brockway Mountain grants an amazing view of Copper Harbor, Lake Fanny Hooe, Copper Harbor Light Houses, and the surrounding area, all hugged by majestic Lake Superior. It's definitely a must-see!!
If you’re heading to Copper Harbor, be sure to go via this unpaved road. Incredible views and lots of pullouts to take pictures. Ideal for night photography on a clear evening. Best to have a car with good clearance.
It’s a great place on a most any day for a view of the area. Go during color season for a real show. If you’re bicycling though, you won’t enjoy the road is rough. It’s so rough that it’s unsafe and certainly a torture to ride. I’m glad I rode it once but never again.
In my opinion, the drive to and the top of Brockway Mountain is the thing to do in the Keweenaw. Great drive to the top with several pull-offs and views. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a 360-degree view of the Keweenaw peninsula and Lake Superior. When we were there last, we went to the summit to watch the sunset. Even though a cloud bank rolled in, we watched the sun pass behind it, turning the lake to gold and lighting a freighter as well. Always enjoy our time here. I have done it many times, and I'm sure I will do it many more. Absolutely a must do when in the Keweenaw!!
This was an absolutely gorgeous stop on our 2023 color tour. You can't beat the views, truly an amazing spot. We went on a very busy day and still found parking.
Beautiful views of Copper Harbor! So glad there is a road to drive up there! Lots of paths for walking. I didn't walk on any of them. The first stop had a view of Copper Harbor and you can almost see the tip of the U.P. Keep driving up the mountain till you get to the main area. That's a beautiful spot! You can view everything from up there! Enjoy!
The most beautiful place in Michigan & one most surreal places I've been to! Almost 360° view & probly best view for fall color & sunsets & view over lake superior! #1 spot
