Best WLM Reviews
As a long-time patron of Bob-O-Rinos, I have witnessed the evolution of their menu over the years. However, my recent experience left much to be desired. Today, I decided to indulge in their Italian sub, only to find that the once delightful ingredients have undergone a noticeable change.
One of the standout features of Bob-O-Rinos' Italian sub used to be its delectable Italian dressing. However, it seems that the recipe has been altered, resulting in a flavor that comes across as overly processed and lacking in the vibrant taste I once enjoyed. Additionally, the quality of the meats has noticeably declined, while the American cheese appeared to be aged to the point of imparting an unpleasant saltiness.
In addition to the subpar sandwich, I opted for the cream of chicken soup, which unfortunately arrived clumpy and at room temperature, further adding to my disappointment.
While the price of the meal remained reasonable, I would gladly pay more if it meant returning to the superior ingredients and flavors of the past. Bob-O-Rinos has always held a special place in my culinary journey.
Under new ownership i was concerned their food would suffer. I have been going to Bob O Rinos for 40 plus years. 1st visit was a good one. The subs are still good. Soups were also good. Bring back the Beef Barley soup my wife loved.
Forgot to take a picture because I was so hungryyy. But it was sooo delicious! I don’t live by here so I was skeptical because the outside looks a little creepy lol. But it’s 10/10, i got the tuna melt and the stuffed bell pepper soup. I hope to come back!
Really one of the best biggest submarine sandwiches around. Turkey and cheese with the condiments and delicious French bread. Soft and fresh. Outstanding!
Update-Unfortunately since the new owners have taken over last March this has dropped out of my top 3 subs. It is still a decent sub but you can tell product has changed.
Previous review- This is a top 3 in Chicago for a sub and soup. Always fresh and super affordable. The staff is super friendly and efficient. My kids love the place and when they come back to Chicago to visit we always have to stop there. Been enjoying Bob-O-Rinos for over two decades.
Edit: here’s a tip for the new owner. You wouldn’t need to spend money on cheesy banners and tacky LED lights if you kept the quality ingredients that Bob used to use.
I’m guessing you’re wondering why the business you purchased doesn’t have the cash flow you anticipated.
Nobody is drawn in by your banners. Spend the money on returning to the quality products we were used to and you’ll get repeat customers again. Ditch the tacky signs and lights already!
I don’t know what happened lately but the food at Bob O’s is different now than it was with the previous owner.
The turkey on the subs is yucky now. Definitely been downgraded to some cheaper type of deli meat. The lettuce on my sandwich was brown.
The last time my husband got soup it was completely watery with no vegetables. He threw it out.
From 2013-2022 we were regulars almost every single week but now we will not be back.
I’m so sad.
Decnt sub and nice employees. It says subs come with cheese, yet there was a .55 cent custom charge for my provolone cheese. I hate businesses that nickel and dime you. Too many options to make me come back.
This place has really gone downhill since the new owners stepped in. All of the soups are different and the cream soups taste sour. Huge disappointment as this used to be our family’s favorite sub shop. A good thing doesn’t need fixing.
