Best WLM Reviews

Although Beto’s Pizza is technically Ohio-Valley style pizza, it’s a staple in Pittsburgh and was on my list of “must-eat” places. Beto’s has been slinging “cuts” of pizza for over 65 years. The incredibly crispy, yet forgiving crust, mild tomato sauce and cold shredded provolone, can be described in one word: interesting. I personally enjoyed the cold cheese atop a warm crispy crust. The cuts ate light and left me feeling very satisfied after two. I can see how some people would not enjoy this as it’s not traditional, however there must be enough people that enjoy it for Beto’s to be in business for over 65 years. The customer flow was non stop. If I lived in Pittsburgh, Beto’s would be in my rotation. I read some reviews on how it can get mushy if not eaten right away. I will concur with this. Eat it while it’s hot! Would definitely recommend. Great first meal in the Burgh.
This is a Pittsburgh staple! The crust is crunchy, the cheese is put on cold and they pile on your choice of pizza ingredients. It's a delicious bite. They have Pepsi products. The staff was very nice and helpful. We also got their French fries. They were great.
I was a bit hesitant at first with the cold cheese, but it was so good. The dough is excellent, really nice and crispy, awesome sauce, high quality cheese. I got it within 7 minutes of entering piping hot. It may not be the very best pizza I have ever had, it may not be some thing and crispy New York pizza either, but it is an amazing pizza at an amazing price. I will definitely be coming back regularly.
This was my first time here. I rolled my eyes at the pizza and said no way, gross. Then I finally tried it and I was confused. I didn't hate it. I actually loved it. MINUS the sauce. I hate the sauce. It tastes like it came from a tin can. That is my ONLY complaint. I would definitely go here again but my thoughts on the tin can sauce won't change.
I ordered a cheese pizza with just green peppers. The kid at the desk said the onions were raw so I said no to them. Assumed the green peppers were raw too. No. Cooked. And gross. Next time, just cheese.
The dough/crust was sooooooo crunchy and good. That is another thing. I refuse to eat pizza with thick dough/crust. This was just perfect.
Completely satisfied with my dinner and I am excited to come back.
Beto’s has been a pizza favorite of mine for the longest time. Unfortunately I hadn’t been able to visit for about a year and when I finally did I was extremely disappointed. The 26 minute wait was full of anticipation and when they finally called my name a friend promptly got up and retrieved our order. When we got it at the table the pizza was completely melted and soggy; even the high-rise corner piece was soft and soggy. My middle piece was formless and I would classify it as a liquid. My wings did nothing to redeem the order essentially being plain wings soaked in oil with no garlic or parmesan to be found. In the end the service was ok, the restaurant was clean, but the food that I once loved is not here anymore.
Quick, yummy, filling, surprising that non melted mozzarella cheese can be actually good on a pizza. The crust is thick about 0.75 inches and the rims are crunchy. The crust is more like bread than chewy (I prefer chewy but to each’s own). The portions are huge so it will fill you up to just have a cheese slice. Each topping is 60 cents extra per topping on top of the base pizza individual slice with cheese which is $1.92 per slice. The onions, mushrooms, tomato slices were good toppings but I didn’t like the green peppers which were overcooked. Some might like it well done (they steamed or boiled it) but I like the color to be greener and closer to being fresh. Other than that I liked my cheese to be baked. But I tried the non baked cheese and it was still good. Your preference. This is first come first serve seating (no booking a table) so don’t come during rush hour times bc you will be waiting or you should take it home.
Beto's is delicious Ohio Valley style pizza. I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. The sauce on this pie is 10/10. Crust and cheese were also good. Would be happy to visit again next time I'm in Pittsburgh. Beto's was the best Ohio Valley style pizza I've ever had. I devoured 4 slices quickly.
Beto’s pizza is always fresh and the corner piece are the best. The crust has a nice crunch to it and so does the undercarriage. I highly recommend eating the pizza when it’s hot. It tastes totally different if you get take out and let the pizza sit in a box. The pizza is awesome and is a nice change up from your typical bar pizza. I’ve never once had a bad pizza from Beto’s
