Our waitress, Candice, was awesome! Never ran out of water, and she made sure that we had plenty of fresh chips and salsa. She checked back periodically to make sure that everything was good, always asking if we needed anything.
With any good mexican restaurant, you are provided chips and salsa as a pre-meal snack. The chips and salsa were delicious, especially the tomatillo and pineapple salsa (green salsa in the middle of the tray in the picture), which tasted very fresh. It's probably my favorite of the three. The other two were a standard mild salsa and a bit of a hotter salsa, both of which were full of flavor. I also enjoyed the thinness of the chips. I didn't feel that I was getting full eating several of them prior to my meals.
For a starter, we ordered Tortilla Soup. I am not a fan of avocado. However, this Tortilla Soup is definitely making me a fan. The avocado was sliced and added to the soup. The cheese, sour cream, and tortilla strips were provided on the side. Adding it all to the soup was the best decision as the flavors were like the instruments of a symphony, harmonizing the flavors together. My compliments to the chef! Delicious! My bowl went back completely empty.
We also ordered the Diablo Queso, which was a great addition to the many other queso dips provided. It had a mild kick to it and would have been hotter if we had asked to level the sauce in it rather than having it on the side. The hot sauce reminded me of a Texas Pete style, though a bit hotter. It's still very satisfying.
Meals included the Enchilada and Taco plate and the Durango Burrito. Both were served very hot and were very delicious. The rice and bean sides complimented the main courses, adding different textures and flavors to every bite. Portion sizes were great as we didn't need to get a bunch of take home containers and at the same time, nothing was left on the plate and I felt full and still had plenty of chips and salsa to munch on after we finished the main courses.
On a Friday night for the first time with a friend of mine I tried out the Abuelos restaurant. I ordered the three enchilada dinner which was decent enough in taste. I ordered some steak soft taco's to take home to my mom but she was unable to eat them because the meat was too tough so I ended up giving it to our pets. It surprises that a nice establishment such as Abuelos would allow bad meat like that to be served to their patrons. I can say after the meal I had a bad case of heartburn. Oh well guess you can't win em all.
Went to the restaurant for the first time sat by the bar. My waiter was Mario. He was very attentive and friendly. I asked him about a specific bottle of tequila and he said he had tried it and it was good, it’s a special edition Herradura tequila but the shot was around $54, pass. I ordered the trio fajitas and they were average, but one of their sauces that they bring out with their chips was delicious. They have Pacifico and XX amber on draft, unlike many other Mexican restaurants and they have a good variety of tequilas. The restaurant also has nice murals on each side of the bar.
The highlight of my dinner was their homemade flour tortillas.
We have heard so many good things about this restaurant, and those weren’t wrong. It has plenty of seatings, and it is big enough to accommodate a large group of customers. We were much impressed with their vegetarian options and their chile rellenos were exceptionally delicious.
Great food. I had my personal favorite, Quesadilla El Horno. My friend had the Vegetarian enchiladas. My only complaint is that they don’t take apple pay! Who doesn’t take Apple Pay?!
Had lunch, ordered the chicken & beef fajitas with the queso to start. Absolutely amazing experience! Highly recommend!
This is a Mexican restaurant with a wide range of traditional dishes, some veg only and gluten free options as well. Seating area is large, making it suitable for gathering of friends and family as well. Had a nice enchilada, taco, beans and rice dish recently, was expectedly pretty good.
Service was prompt and polite - no complaints!
The food was the star, though. All the complimentary salsas are different and delicious in their own ways. The chips are thin and tasty as well!
The entrees were cooked to perfection. The chicken breast I had was thin, so I was afraid when I saw it delivered. Many restaurants will botch a chicken breast - but this one did not. It was SO juicy. The sauce was really delicious, as well.
Super happy with our experience!
