This cafe is a bit of a classic here in Halle, but today's visit was very disappointing. Five of us visited for a lunch meal. The server was very helpful and prompt. We sat outside, and the outdoor seating is very nice.
The food, in general, was acceptable. It wasn't amazing, but it was good for the most part. The price, however, is quite high for what it is. Our biggest problem: the mushroom toast. There was so much oil on it that not only did the oil completely soak into the toast (if squeezed, the toast oozed oil all the way through), but that oil then coated your mouth and made the dish inedible. I was able to eat the mushrooms in the top and nothing else. And I paid like 13EUR for that. The cocktails were nice, at least.
Nice area, very quiet square with locals and other eateries… perfect for a quiet dinner with friends and family. We had food from the kinder (kids) menu, nuggets and spaghetti bolonaise, a Croque Monsieur sandwich, a penne pasta with ham, and a few Belgian waffles. Everything was super tasty and the portions were rather large. This is our first visit to Halle, and it was a nice, quiet evening
Ah, our party spoke English, Korean, French, but this area is Flemish. So, it may take a minute to decipher the menu and order, but they are great!
The food was excellent, and the service was faster this time. However, one thing to note is that the waiter seemed overly eager to clean the table while one of the clients was still eating.

The food was OK(not great not terrible), very slow before we received the plate. Almost 1 hours. The waiter was nice and comprehensive. His deserves 5 starts
The food is good and gets to your table fast. As long as you don't mind the sometimes rude staff, you'll have a decent meal.
Wouldn't advice for a nice diner. But a nice lunch with friends or after market is feasible.
I expected more. I ordered a Cappuccino but have to say I've had better. My partner had a milkshake that cost double what mine did but was not even worth half... plus he ordered vanilla that ended up having a banana aftertaste. Maybe the food is better? Friendly staff though. But despite not being very busy, the waiters was rushing around as if they were jam packed and made us feel a little rushed.
Very slow, very unfriendly service.
People around us got served while we got ignored. I have to guess as to why they ignored us. After ordering we were offered the bill and were expected to pay immediately while others could wait and request the bill when ready to leave.
Let's just say that to be on the safe side, I'll be ordering somewhere else when I'm with a friend off colour.
