This is 5 star Mediterranean!!!!! I’m so glad I decided to stop here. I had been driving past it for a while but decided to try a new spot and It owes me nothing! The Flavors are so good!!!! The chicken skewer plate was EXCELLENT!!!! So tender & juicy! I didnt think I was going to be able to eat it all but I ate the entire plate!!!! Can’t wait to go back!
Went to Zwar in Orland Park for Eid. Once I ordered my food, I was given a bottle of water. Bad presentation but not too big of a deal.
Once i received my food, I noticed that they gave me a wrong item. so when I told them the item was wrong (Ordered lamb skewers instead of beef kofta).
Instead of taking the plate back, the server states that "This is the lamb". Unfortunately, I'm no fool and being from America, we know what ground beef taste like.
I ignore it because it's Eid.
When going to pay, I noticed my bill was a little high, again not thinking nothing of it, I let it go and left a 15% tip.
Looking down and the receipt, I noticed that the server put a 20% gratuity for himself.
He asked if I wanted the tip back that I paid him in cash. I told him to keep it and then I left.
Needless to say, I will not return to this establishment. Food had an amazing presentation but it was bland. Service was terrible and the atmosphere was okay. Could've been better, but they thought it was a good idea to show the news of what's going on over in Palestine on the TV.
Food is absolutely AMAZING! the hummus is straight out of the downtown Amman, Jordan! It doesn't get more authentic than this! ... We got two types of rice, each of which has a different flavor, and very moist ... The starter sauce is a specialty to this restaurant, we had to ask what is in it! It was Great! The meat is very juicy and tender ... Beef Kebab is the best...
We also ordered Arayees, and it was childhood in a plate! Absolutely amazing! So moist, flavorful, and tasty!
We are sure coming back here!
We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening and we were immediately seated. The service was friendly and fast and the food was outstanding. We ordered the fattoush salad, baba ganoush, chicken shawarma plate and chicken shawarma sandwich. Everything was abundant and tasty! The chicken was moist and very flavorful, something not always experienced at restaurants. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Zwar exceeded my expectations, I will be back!
Honestly i dont know why this place received bad reviews because the food we got yesterday was AMAZING! It was full of flavor cooked fresh and everyone loved it. Honestly we liked it better than the bawadi. Even the rice was fluffy the kebabs were so juicy! We ordered the family grill platter which came with a bunch of sides (full sides) and its made for 5/6 people. We are 4 people and we felt like we didnt even make a dent in the tray. We all ate 2 plates full. None of us have every tried this place it was recommended to me from my cousin && now i see why. The lady was so sweet who took my order. The cook literally had taken everything off the grill as we got there. Mashallah
I hope the food will always be like this because honestly we will be back again!
Taraq was so nice, funny, and really enjoyable to be around. he is so consistent, and fast paced. i recommend you come here and ask for him because he will make your visit so much better.
A really fantastic place. Very nice atmosphere, you can tell they put a lot of time and effort into decorating it. The food was exquisite. Reasonably priced and a large portion. We will definitely be back.
The food was great- got the ‘Special platter’ for two, which included beef kabobs, kifka, and chicken. Just two challenges:
1) the platter was brought to the table liberally sprinkled with slivered almonds. This would have been amazing except that one of our party is severely allergic to almonds. The server were very apologetic and might have taken it back- we opted to add something else and keep it.
2) the price of the platter rang up $10 more expensive than the menu had stated- a 25% increase. When asked, he said the online menu was not updated
What’s the conclusion? Everything we ate was amazingly good, and apparently quite authentic. Just be warned the online menu (the only menu we saw) was incomplete and inaccurate. So ask all your questions up front, including pricing if it’s important.
