Just visited for a night, which was affordable I would say. About $83 for the night on Tuesday. Service easy very nice, they were able to accommodate early check-in. My only complaint is the room I had smell like vomit and I feel like housekeeping didn’t clean that very for whoever was there before me. They were able to come into my room later in the night to spray some things which helps a little bit, but still kind of reeks. Also, if you want to have a quiet place, this is not the hotel for you. They were playing some concert until like two in the morning so you’re better off finding somewhere further away from downtown.
I thoroughly enjoyed my week stay here at The D. During check-in, you can ask the employee for a room on the ‘quieter’ side of the hotel away from Fremont. My room was quiet, clean and better than I was expecting. I didn’t have a single issue while staying here for a week. No frills, but if you’re looking for just a place to sleep and shower, this is it. You can’t beat the price or the location. Exceeded my expectations.
Rooms are pretty minimum. No mini fridge and extremely limited outlets. Other than that, the room was clean! I did have to call front desk to give us towels ( they forgot to put them in our room) and they were extremely quick to remedy that.
This was a good spot to stay in for the activities we were gonna do!
Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff. No coffee or fridge in room. Noisy at night on Saturday night, but it wasn't that big of a deal to me, I just left the TV on til it quieted down. I stayed 4 nights. Loved the location, and all of the walkable restaurants nearby. We used the swimming pool off site, which was great. Free parking was a great added benefit. I would stay here again, and Fremont Street is fun these days! There was a noticeable police presence that was a good thing.
I’ve been coming to The D for years because it is so much fun! Great atmosphere, dancing dealers, great music and good video poker. What more could you ask for? ||||Rooms: The rooms are basic, but clean and spacious. The beds are comfortable, but the highlight of the room is actually the bathrooms, they are large and very nice.||||Pro tip: Get a room as high as you can in the tower, the further you get from Fremont Street, the quieter it’ll be!||||Food: Andiamo is an absolute amazing classic Vegas steakhouse. I highly recommend it. For a quick bite, they also have American Coney where you can grab some good coney dogs and fries. They also have a very nice coffee stand that sells a range of beverages and smoothies.
The corner king room I booked wasn't available, but the front desk was incredibly accommodating. I was given a standard king room 11 floors higher and along "the quiet side", with free early check-in. It was in outstanding condition with only some minor wear-and-tear on the bathroom mirror that I didn't even notice until the third day.
Resort fees were probably a bit excessive, considering the room was without a coffee machine, refrigerator, etc. The pool and fitness centre were typical of a 3-star hotel and quite small.
Housekeeping was a bit inconsistent. It was clear some days that the bed was made, the trash emptied, and that was that. Not a fair level of service relative to the tips I left out, to be perfectly honest. Housekeepers were always considerate of my belongings though. At no point did I feel like my privacy could have been infringed upon.
The casino was well kept and had excellent ventilation. I hardly noticed the cigarette and cigar smoke at all. Slot attendants were always out and about, as were cleaning staff. Bartenders, dealers, dancers, and Club One staff were all pleasant. On the other hand, the cocktail servers seemed like they were just sort of going through the motions.
In all, I had a much better experience than I was expecting for a relatively inexpensive hotel in the middle of downtown. I think many of the negative reviews are greatly exaggerated - there are some drawbacks, yes, but I will be happy to stay here again.
Every staff member I encountered in 5 days was fantastic, above and beyond. The location is great, right near Walgreens and good restaurants. The room wasn’t great. Upon entering it smelled strongly like stale cigarettes even though it was a non-smoking room. The bed was one of the worst I’ve ever slept in (or not slept, more accurately). It was sagging on both sides with at least a decade’s worth of other people’s body shapes and was hard as a rock. It was noisy at night being near the stage on Fremont St, but that was expected. I had a wheelchair accessible room and the seal along the edge of the shower was worn, so every shower flooded the entire bathroom. I was able to squeegee the water to the drain with my foot and the rest evaporated quickly but it was not a good experience. However, the room was clean and the refrigerator was nice and cold, so there’s that. The furniture and fixtures sorely need updating. I was bummed that the bubble craps machines don’t give points, which was why I was staying there (to see if downtown might be my new Vegas home away from home, between the D and Circa). That being my game of choice, I won’t likely stay there again.
The corner king premium was a disappointment. The housekeeping staff entered our room at 9:30 pm, while we slept and woke us. Our mattress was completely collapsed on the right side. The soap/lotion was an off brand. Fresh towels occured irregularly, so we often reused our wet towels from the morning.
The pool was nice on a 36° day.
Great location.
