I ordered a small veggie pizza. I'm a transplanted Chicago girl. The only thing I could say to improve would be to put it under broiler so cheese can brown. The crust was excellent, had a fair amount of veggies. I would have liked pepperoni but didn't want to pay anymore. It was a little expensive. Very good .
You can't just get a good breakfast steak anywhere anymore. It was fantastic! 12 oz. Delicious. We were happy with everything we got. Their extensive drink menu is exceptional as well.
This was our first time here. We plan to come back regularly.

Your Choice Family Restaurant is a mom & pop spot in Wayland, IA with a nice atmosphere, really good food and great staff. Everyone was friendly and attentive. They served us without complaint, even though we came in close to closing time.
You can’t go wrong with most of the menu. The Hot Roast Beef is really good, but so far, my favorite is the Breaded Pork Tenderloin.
We were in for lunch yesterday. A friend recommended this restaurant and we thought we would give it a try. We are from Washington, so just a short drive to get there.
The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The place was clean and organized. Heaven, our server, was very nice and did a fine job taking care of us.
Our food was delicious. I had the breaded tenderloin and my wife had the House Chicken. Everything was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
The food and wait staff were fantastic and fast! Love what you guys have done with the place. Thanks for the burger and cheese balls! Can't wait to come back!
Update:
The best pizza I've had in at least 20 years!! I can get free pizza at my job in Iowa City where I live but I will only come down and order pizza from you guys from now on. Phenomenal!!!!!
The food is fresh, and the portions are, generous. I saved half my meal for later! The service was excellent. :)

The wait staff is wonderful. The best omelets in the area. Are favorite restaurant for breakfast.
This is long, but our dinner experience tonight. I seen a sign on the door saying they are short staffed and have limited their hours because of it, I totally get it. I really am the most understanding person there is! Sorry if it’s wordy, I’m over descriptive ????
My family and I stopped in for dinner tonight, it was 7pm. An hour before close. We were an hour and thirty minutes away from home and it was the nearest place with indoor seating to get my almost 1 year old out of the car for a little bit. When we walked in, there was about 7 or so tables in the restaurant. It said seat yourself so we found the nearest booth and took a seat. We waited a little bit, a busy server walked by and said politely Heaven would be right with us(if i recall her name correct), but she was going to grab us something to drink. She gets our drinks and says Heaven will be over shortly. We waited about 20-25 minutes and she still hadn’t came by, I seen her walk by a few times tending to other tables. I never caught the other servers name, but she was wearing a blue shirt and dark hair in a bun. She was so kind despite how visibly busy she was, she was red in the face from being hot(it was kind of warm inside, felt nice from being outside but running around I’m sure she was very hot!), she was answering togo orders, taking dine in orders, cashing tables out, giving refills and checking on other tables. The girl in the blue shirt came back over and apologized for the wait, said she would take care of us since Heaven never came over. Once we were taken care of, I seen Heaven in the dining room cleaning tables, grabbing condiments. I heard the other server ask to step outside for a moment and she did. My husband and I felt so sorry for her and how she was doing all the work and probably making little to nothing in tips considering the wait(I seen other tables waiting on other entrees, it seemed the kitchen was a little backed up or slow as well). There was a Togo that called that the blue shirted girl took care of, and they came and picked the order up she cashed them out. They were waiting for their food, they had to ask if it was ready yet. It was sitting on the counter because someone had bagged it but not seen they were here waiting for it. She apologized and said sorry people aren’t paying attention(I’m assuming it was Heaven). Our food was done very quickly and it was delicious. Once we were finished eating, Heaven comes by quite a few times to ask if we need boxes or our check or anything. She came by three times in the matter of maybe 10 minutes. I could tell she was maybe waiting to get us cashed out to receive the tip? I told her I was fine and we had our ticket and waited for the other server to come by again. Our bill was around 30$ or so and we gave her 60$ and told her to keep the change. She was so thankful when we were leaving and she deserved every penny, even more!
I used to be a server and I loved doing it — good tips or bad I enjoyed taking care of people. I hope Heaven gets some extra training or even a consultation if this is the right job for her, it makes me cringe when I see bad service because it is rude and embarrassing. I wish she could’ve taken care of us, but the other girl did great and I feel like she doesn’t get the credit she deserves, and maybe someone else needed to say something about Heaven not doing her job.
If this message gets to her thanks for such the great service and dinner tonight, I hope you guys get the extra staff you need! ❤️
