***I’M REPORTING TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU***
Their customer service is appalling and discriminatory! I have been a loyal customer of Yami Yami for a months. I ordered the same thing every time. They are so familiar with me and my order that they would recite it along with me as I placed it. Each encounter had been seamless and pleasant.
However, today, when I called to place a pickup order as usual, I was treated with disrespect and a deplorable attitude. A woman, who I assume is the owner, took my order and then told me, "You have to come in to place your order because the last time you called and canceled." She then hung up on me before I could respond. When I called back to ask if she had hung up on me, she admitted she had because of my previous canceled order and hung up on me again.
Bear in mind, I had to cancel my order due to a TORNADO WATCH. The weather was so bad that my dad didn’t want to risk driving so far. I canceled shortly after placing the order and apologized profusely for the inconvenience. She assured me that it was ok, there was no issue and that she understood. Despite my history as a pleasant customer, she used this one incident to discriminate against me.
As advised, I went to place my order in person and asked why did I deserve to treated with such ill intent simply because of one canceled order. My mum accompanied me and I began recording the encounter for my own safety and protection. When I asked why she hung up on me, she realized I was recording and reacted with hostility, yelling and threatening to call the police. She went into the back and lied to the dispatcher, saying I was loud and threatening. I also called 911, and the dispatcher could hear her yelling in the background. I showed the entire incident to the officers when they arrived.
I did nothing wrong and said nothing threatening to this woman, seeing as she wouldn’t even allow me to respond any at all. She purposely created an unpleasant, unprofessional encounter, victimized herself, and tried to portray me as the aggressor. I strongly believe this was based on racial prejudice/ discrimination.
She requested that I never return, as if I would ever trust her with my food again. She doesn’t have to worry about my physical presence, but I will be reporting her to the Better Business Bureau, leaving reviews wherever Yami Yami is listed, and bringing awareness to my encounter via social media. Maybe that give her an attitude readjustment.
why am i just finding this place! i went during lunch and got the lunch special beef lo mein. my food was soo good and fresh and hot. and it didn’t take long. i always judge a place on how good the Lo Mein is and theirs is soo good! i usually go to the buffet to go but im glad i stopped here because now i have something just as good closer to my house!
The food is good, and the service is great! Very nice people.
EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I have eaten at Yami Yami multiple times before and have never had an issue. This time, I decided to order the honey wings (which I've had before). When I got home and opened the container the wings LOOKED spoiled. They were soggy and didn't smell like honey whatsoever. I called and tried to inform them that the wings did not appear fresh and the woman I spoke with tried to tell me that I took more than 10-15 minutes to pick it up and that's why the wings appeared soggy in addition to the honey sauce. I didn't take too long to pick up my order (as evidence of her being unable to tell me exactly how long I took) but I humored it and tried the wings. The meat tasted spoiled. I threw the plate in the trash. The next day and I have been on and off of the toilet all day and have not eaten anything since that plate. When I originally called I was offered 20% off my next order. I called again today and was offered a fresh order. No thank you to either. Eat here at your own risk. They used to be so good, but have definitely gone downhill.
The dining area was very clean, and the service was exceptional and friendly. The food wasn't fresh, or flavorful to me and the meat was hard. Thumbs down for me!
Overall the food is good. Recently they've switched to Styrofoam containers for their sauce. Because the food is delivered nice and hot, it melted the Styrofoam containers and plastic top leaking all the sauces in to the bottom of the bag.
Always great food! I absolutely love their hot and sour soup!
My general chicken was dry but the shrimp fried rice was good and plentiful. I opened my box of white rice and poured it onto a bowl and there was a bandaid sitting at the bottom of the box… I’m disgusted, the bandaid clearly has been used. I would give 0 stars if I could, will never eat here again.
