Loved how friendly the service was and she didn’t mind answering any questions. The dressing is so good I’m just mad they put so much celery and bell peppers made every bite crunchy , chicken wings a bomb , macaroni was okay greens were okay as well and the yams were good too. My pork chop wasn’t really done still was slightly pink when I wanted it fried hard .
I’m a recent transplant from NC and sent my husband here because we are in the middle of moving and the last thing I wanted to do was cook. This food was AMAZING! I had the fish, Mac and cheese, collards, stuffing. The best fried fish I HAVE EVER HAD. It tasted home-made. Everything was fresh and good and I’d have taken a picture but I was too busy stuffing my face! My husband said the lady behind the counter was super sweet and offered suggestions and he (who does not eat fish!) ate half my fish!! The portions are HUGE for the price and I will be returning. Tomorrow probably.
Well first of all we went there 20 minutes after opening, there was no menu, when we inquired about the menu the cashier/ counter person said she didn't have time to write it on the board as she usually does. She verbally told us the menu, so we ordered baked chicken, dressing, string beans, yams/ turkey wings dressing, collard greens, macaroni & cheese. As we waited 30 minutes, an array of I guess staff arrived, no one washed their hands, and they were very unorganized. We waited 30 minutes just for our food to be fixed from aluminum pans and put in the microwave, and to our dismay it was not even lukewarm. We didn't take it back, but they have a sign in the window, that says "No Refund". So what we did not eat, we left in the car as we ran errands for a couple of hours, we came back to the car, it reeked of soured food. I don't know if it was the dressing or the string beans. I really don't know how this establishment is deemed as an official restaurant, it's too small and there is no way that food is handled properly. The baked chicken was seasoned well, the dressing was very dry, the string beans were ok, the yams were watery, the cornbread was crumbly, the collard greens were mostly stems, turkey wings were seasoned well & tender, macaroni and cheese was dry. My overall experience, I won't return cause presentation for me is everything...
Love everything she serve but I have to get my stew beef an rice love it thank for my Banana pudding ????????
This place is an NIGHTMARE. My guy brought me a dinner on Mother’s Day and it was the worst ever. Everything was spoil and disgusting. After I called and complained the owner had the nerve to say she has been running a very successful business for the past 30 years and I want to know how? She tried to rectify the problem but, in a nasty matter.
Wow, It was my first time going on here and the food is really good. Its flavored with love and the owner is on point.
My food was great! Baked chicken was a little dry but overall those yams and mac-n-cheese gave me life and the proportion was satisfying not skimpy at all????????????
Friendly respectful staff and wonderful food too. They serve the definition of comfort food. Had the catfish and hush puppies and they were amazing. Will be frequenting them on my buisness trips to Chicago.
