Quick Facts About TRUE BEAUTY AFRICAN BRAIDS & HAIR STYLES, LLC

TRUE BEAUTY AFRICAN BRAIDS & HAIR STYLES, LLC has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one customer praised Sarah for doing a phenomenal job, stating that their hair was beautiful and tight. This indicates that the hairstylists at TRUE BEAUTY AFRICAN BRAIDS & HAIR STYLES, LLC are skilled in their craft and can produce desired results. Another customer mentioned that the atmosphere was excellent and that the manager and staff were friendly, creating a welcoming environment for clients. Additionally, one customer was satisfied with the crochet passion twists they received, mentioning that the twists were neat, tight, and beautiful, and that it was worth the money.
On the other hand, several weaknesses were identified in the comments. One customer mentioned that their crochet hairstyle was glued to their hair, and they were struggling to get it out. This indicates a lack of proper technique and care during the service. Another complaint raised was about increasing prices. Multiple customers mentioned that the prices were raised unexpectedly during their appointments, which can be seen as unprofessional and unfair to customers. One customer even mentioned that the owner raised the price due to "longer than average boy" hair, which seems arbitrary and discriminatory.
Poor customer service was also mentioned by multiple customers. One individual mentioned that the salon only accepted cash in a world where most people use cards, which is inconvenient and outdated. Another customer complained about the length of time it took to complete their hairstyle, mentioning that they were at the salon for several hours and noticed that pieces of their hairstyle were already unraveling. The customer also mentioned that the salon did not offer any refund for the unsatisfactory service.
In addition to issues with service, there were accusations of unprofessional behavior and lack of proper licensing. Some customers mentioned that the salon responded to negative reviews with gibberish rather than addressing the customers' concerns. There were also claims that some employees at the salon did not have cosmetology licenses, which raises concerns about the qualifications and expertise of the staff.
Overall, TRUE BEAUTY AFRICAN BRAIDS & HAIR STYLES, LLC has strengths in producing beautiful hairstyles and creating a friendly atmosphere. However, there are significant weaknesses in terms of poor service, unexpected price increases, lack of customer satisfaction, and potential licensing issues. These weaknesses should be addressed in order to improve the overall customer experience and reputation of the salon.

You know anytime you go anywhere you take a chance, from doctors to cooks and hairstylist but from my experience Sarah was very good and my hair was beautiful and tight and she did a phenomenal job and I'm a hairdresser so I know the deal. She doesn't talk while doing your hair it's all business. Just wanted to say, thank you.
Went there for crochet and they glued it to my my hair! I am struggling to get it out because once again IT'S GLUED!! There is absolutely no reason to ever put glue in someone's crochet! They constantly raised the price on my family every time we went and they are completely unprofessional only accepting cash in a world we're the majority of us use cards. When I went to get cash to pay her (After being there multiple times before) she kept offering to take my phone for me?? There was absolutely no reason to hold my phone even for security reasons because my sister whom they had met before was still there getting her hair completed. Absolutely never returning and hope no one else does either.
Today was my first time at this shop, the atmosphere was excellent, didn't have to look for parking. The manager offer me water, she and her staff was very friendly. Sarah was my braider she did an amazing job with the braiding style I wanted. They you True Beauty African Braids & Hair Styles, for your excellent service!
As I went there and got my hair washed the set price was 60 (I came with my hair washed and dried) so the owner washed my hair and then as I sat down the price went to 100 because “your hair is longer than the average boy” I paid it but I will never pay it again for service like that.
I had an appointment for 7am. They let me in at 6:55am. I was there for soft locs. I left at 12 noon. She left my hair and completed 7 other people and I’m still there. When I got home, I looked in the mirror and noticed that pieces are already unraveling. I call they tell me to come back in. We’ll, I can’t come back in I’m getting ready to leave for my vacation. They ask for pictures and I send them. I made an appointment to go back when I return. The more I thought about it the more upset ???? I became. 5 hours and $180 for this mess. So I asked for a refund and they say they don’t give refunds. I asked for someone to call me and they did not. Let’s hope they fix it when I return. If not they don’t have to worry because I won’t be back. So much for good, honest people.
This is the second time i have received a service from the salon. After both services were completed the owner made some reason why the prices had to be raised. I first time it was uncharged 25 because of leave in conditioner in my hair ( wash out leave in conditioner). My second appointment was a touch up for my knotless braids, before the appointment i confirmed the prices and at the beginning of the appointment i confirmed the price. After my hair was done i was told that i had to pay $10 more because she opened an additional pack of hair.
Great work, But will change price at the end of appointment
I heard this place is very unprofessional. They commented on a previous review with 5 paragraphs worth of gibberish. Nothing in their response, addressed the issue. Through word of mouth I heard this lady went to the salon, got her hair done and within the hour everything unraveled. ???? I will not consider this salon in the future. Poor customer service and poor quality worth of work. They get mad when you leave a bad review, and take it out on the customer when you try to come back to get their hair fixed. They charge customers to get their hair fixed after complaint and leaving a review.
Also, I was notified most of the people working here “DO NOT have their cosmetology license”. ????
Beware !!!!!!! Poor service ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
(Response below is more gibberish. Complaints are never addressed. Will be filing complaint with the BBB as well, for poor practices and terrible customer service. Company accuses customers of malicious intent when they speak up to complain about horrific services.)
My first week here after moving from Philly and I absolutely LOVE my crochet passion twists. They are neat, tight and look beautiful. Sara started them and the other young lady Evelyn finished them. They did an amazing job and I left feeling better than I walked in. Well worth the money and I saved about $100. Thanks ladies. I will be back. I love my passion twists.
