Outstanding roadside restaurant! Burnt Ends, Ribs, amazing sauce and those APPLE PIE BBQ BEANS ????✋️❤️ the atmosphere and warm welcome of the staff/owner kept us highly entertained and engaged while we waited on that lip-smacking BBQ! Will always stop in now!
Man oh man...this placed lived up to the hype! I'm assuming most people come from surrounding areas because this place is in Wellston off the Turner turnpike. But definitely worth the drive what a cool place. There was a line when we got there but you could go to the bar and get drinks while you were in line :-) the line went well and was very well organized and food was delivered quickly. There was live music there and the band was great. The Retro den/bar was on point! We will definitely come back again. Baked beans were to die for :-)
The ribs were fall off the bone and had a really good flavor- definitely the best I’ve had in Oklahoma. The burnt ends didn’t really seem like “burnt ends”, just seemed like regular brisket that was cut up into squares- still had good flavor and were really tender. The sweet apple beans were interesting, I liked them and didn’t like them at the same time- I really enjoyed the sweet taste but the apple flavor was a little too strong in my opinion (it even had chunks of apple in it). The Mac and cheese wasn’t anything special but tasted fine. I also really enjoyed the sweet bbq sauce and the containers you squeezed them out of (you will have to see them to laugh at this comment).
I really enjoyed the organization of the line, it wasn’t a clustered mess with people everywhere, it was easy and smooth transaction. The guy at the front was very nice and there was even a lady that took our trays when we were done.
I enjoyed the atmosphere. It wasn’t too loud, the tables weren’t too close together, and had a nice little rustic charm. I wasn’t a fan of the chairs they had around the tables-some weren’t in the best condition.
I will give them extra props for having actual baby changing tables in their restrooms- it was so nice!
A GREAT place to eat! Some of the best BBQ you can buy! I really like eating here, and the prices are competitive with any other BBQ place in the, "Tri-State Area! (lol!)
Our order today was for, "Bill Murray!". We missed out by one from being, "Snow White!"
Outdoor seating and live music on Saturday night!
Stopped in on our way through off I-44. Definitely worth the detour!
The restaurant was so cute and eclectic with lots of little decorations that made me smile.
Staff was so friendly and efficient.
We got the brisket, ribs, hot links, potato salad and apple pie beans and they were all great.
First time trying this BBQ place. We got the ribs. They were very tender. I got burnt ends, chopped Brisket, apple ???? baked beans ???? and Mac and Cheese. I took my chopped brisket and put on top of my mac and cheese and add BBQ sauce. It was really good. The burnt ends were really good. More like chunks of brisket. For dessert, you get a twinkie. It was worth the drive from Cushing to Wellston. Will be back.
I mean come on. GET IN MY MOUTH! Yes it’s that good.
Besides waiting in line for 35 minutes to order our food. The atmosphere is great. Parking is rough but plenty of it. Staff is kind. Food comes out quick!
100% get the jalepeño sausage link. Absolutely delicious.
We came on a whim while driving to Tulsa and very happy we did!
Buckle up, take a drive on Route 66, and getcha some BBQ from the butcher! So I've heard of this place for a while , but haven't had the time to go. It was a beautiful Saturday so we grabbed the 76 Vette and headed NE out of OKC on the mother road. We did have a stop planned in Welston anyway, so we saw the butcher and pulled over to grab some grub. They open at 11am on Saturday, but that means they start serving at 11a. You can get there early and stand in line until they start taking orders. There was approximately 50-75 people in front of us when we arrived at 10:55a. The line went pretty quick, about 25 minutes to get to the order taker. So, the food. Sweet baby Jesus, the tater tot casserole.....I wanted to slap my husband it was so good! I had the honey BBQ chicken and it was amazing. The glaze it had on it was full of flavor so no need for BBQ sauce on this bird. The hubs had "the Sasquatch" sandwich. It has pulled pork, sausage, and hot link with coleslaw on a bun. He ate every bit of it! Oh, and did I mention that the one meat or two meat meals come with a twinky? Heck yes! The sauces were just okay, I'm pretty picky on my BBQ sauce and being from Oklahoma you get hooked on Head Country which has vinegar in it. Love me some Head Country. If you are cruising route 66 or driving like a maniac on the Turner Turnpike, take a hot minute and get ya some BBQ from the butcher!
