An unbelievable experience. The Boro Inn is a staple in Blue Ridge. It is a fantastic place to wind down. Father Brennan is a jokester and expect to be given the true Irish ridicule on your first visit. Fantastic owner, great ambiance, and atmosphere. A true diamond in the rough.
LOVED this place! Father Brenden is such a pleasure to talk with. Its like stepping into an authentic Irish pub....at first, until you see all the antiques and history literally everywhere. Was especially impressed with the banquet room and all the taxidermy. What a charming place, we will for sure be back!
An amazing find! The most authentic Irish pub I have been to in a long, long time. Father Brenden is the owner and bartender and a great guy to just talk to. Yes, he is a retired priest and yes he is from Ireland. Best selection of Irish Whiskey I have ever seen. So order a Guinness, a Harp, a black and tan or a snakebite and relax and ask Father Brenden about the history of name Boro Inn and how he came to open a pub in Blue Ridge. Oh, and take a walk around inside and be amazed at all the unique stuff he brought with him.
Great atmosphere, didn't try the food but the place was awesome
What a surprise. It's been a few years since we've been to Blue Ridge and this is a wonderful addition. The various rooms with a different feel and the hospitality of the staff all make for a wonderful experience. I wish we had an Irish pub like this back home. Strongly recommend paying a visit and having in a pint.
Cool Irish pub with a unique style and relaxed atmosphere. The whisky and beer selection is great and there is outdoor seating to bring dogs and even smoke a cigar. Also, try the Irish Grilled Cheese. Its awesome.
I really hate leaving 1 star reviews, especially because I’ve never set foot in this establishment. But I tried to visit half a dozen times spanning two trips to Blue Ridge 4 years apart and each time I’d show up during posted business hours and the door was locked with no signs of life. I even tried calling several times and left a message asking for a call back, but never received a response. To the business owner: please keep your business hours up to date so people don’t end up wasting their time making a trip to a pub that isn’t open. That, along with the fact that you don’t answer phone calls or return messages of people trying to patronize your establishment, to me, suggests that you don’t respect your customers or value their time and in my opinion, is a poor way to run a business.
The owner ..a former priest...is a true gem. His bar is a gem and the entire feel of the pub is genuine and beautiful. Best selection of whiskey and beers. I tip my hat sir!!!
