Yard Bird is the place I take friends and family to when they visit. Very cool decor. The brunch is excellent! Service has always been good. Fantastic smoked meats and every meal is filling! A definite local favorite of mine!
Hidden Gem & Hippie Platter! Yes that is what I ordered at a BBQ place! It was hands down delicious! Place has a great vibe, very cool owners and unique style. Parking is tight but allowed me some time to check out the sunset over the lake. I will definitely go back, I've been telling all my friends about it. If you like to "dip" they have their own sauces. I left with leftovers and a smile.
This place turns out excellent food and service. Always happy to come here for all the meats when I'm in town
Been there about 10 times, I love BBQ and I love brisket. Their brisket is good, Mac-N-Cheese is great, it has a kick to it that's perfect. The ribs and other BBQ foods aren't the best, but they're good. I do think they're a bit overpriced - but way better value than you'll ever get at Famous Dave's. The Yard Bird is a great place substitute to the time it takes to make a perfect brisket.
Our first impression had us wanting to walk out from the poor service the wait staff delivered. They seemed to lack the necessary social skills that servers should have. But when the food came we were glad we stayed. And then the manager came over and was super friendly. If I had to rate them on food alone it would have been a 5, it was amazing!
Food was excellent and you get a good meal with the dinner for 2+ combos (quarter slab of ribs, two other meat selections (pulled pork, brisket, ECT) and two sides per person). They get 18.50 per person. Though the prices across the board are not particularly impressive. But the quality is there.
However, the waitress we had was completely useless. She asked us twice if we wanted butter for the bread. We replied yes, and both times she never returned. She then repeated the same behavior when we went to box the meal, saying that she would get us cups for the sauce to go. Low and behold, we never got them. Heck, another waitress filled out drinks. The whole ordeal really put a bad tarnish on an otherwise good meal. Wish I would have bothered to get the woman's name.
Nice look. Great staff and service. Horribly small chairs. Food was undercooked for whole group of 5. Need better variety of sauces. The only sweet BBQ sauce was runny and not thicker like you would expect. If food was better executed, this place would be packed on a Friday night. It was 3/4 full.
Excellent meats, particularly fried chicken, brisket, pulled pork. Smoke flavor not as strong as other BBQ places due to use of milder cherry/apple woods (as per menu). But all meats were tender and flavorful, sides were tasty, portions were large. Fried chicken was a true standout.
