A reviewer said it's the best, so we went. The Pad Thai was good, but my favorite dish has always been the Pineapple Fried Rice. So I thought it was safe to order it after all. How different could it taste one restaurant to another? Wrong. I was expecting the balance of the sweet pineapple with the savory flavors of all the other ingredients. It actually tasted sour and had a slight flavor of burnt chicken. Had I not been starving, I would not have eaten it. I forced myself to eat it. Then I ordered the Mango Sticky Rice, hoping for the best, but no. It was ok at best. It was packed because the service was slow because of the crowd, but they were friendly. The place is elegant, but the flavors did not do it for me.
I went to this place for dinner with few of my office friends. I already like thai food and had been to really good thai restaurants.
This restaurant is one of the best I have tried. Everything from apetizers to curry to rice was delicious.
Fried garlic fish, garlic shrimp, crab fried rice, panang curry were tasty.
Service, ambiance and pricing was also good.
If you are in the area and crave thai food, i would strongly recommend.
I'm a huge fan of Sushi on Fire, so I was surprised how far this restaurant fell from being "good." I ordered the salmon curry (since it said it came with a salmon filet, and since I liked a picture someone posted of their salmon curry 2 years ago). The salmon I received looked nothing like the picture, and was NOT a salmon filet; it was mostly bones. It also tasted "fishy" in some bites (which I never usually experience with salmon).
Several minutes after I had ordered, the waitress asked if it was ok if they gave me the part of the salmon near the cheeks. I said,"I don't like dealing with bones, so I was hoping for the filet." I also asked if they could cook the salmon "medium," so it wasn't dried out.
What came out was very little salmon, barely edible, and with lots of bones (NOT a filet). It was the most dry and overcooked salmon I've ever had in my life! I had to chew it very carefully, since it kept feeling like it would get stuck in my throat from being so hard and dry.
The steamed vegetables were fine, but the panang was the most sugary tasting panang I've ever had - without the depth of flavor I've had at all the many other Thai restaurants I've tried. It was way too sweet - like a dessert. Even the Pad Thai was sweeter than normal Pad Thai.
I was shocked, since I've been a huge fan of Sushi on Fire for YEARS - so I expected the same high quality of their brand (which this CLEARLY was NOT). I celebrate my birthday at Sushi On Fire EVERY year. I love Thai food, and was excited to support them in trying this restaurant. Sadly, it was the worst Thai food I've ever had.
For their sake, I'm hoping they were short staffed, or had new chefs, or some strange extenuating circumstances. That must (?) be true, since they have 4.5 star reviews. So I'm glad to see that others had a much better experience than I did. Still bummed.
This is my first time here and it was lunch time on a Tuesday. There are many customers so I would think that the food is good, and it was.
I had the lunch special which comes with a salad and white or brown rice. I like the dressing on the salad a lot. The lunch portion was great because it was just right. I got the hot basil leaf with chicken, and medium spicy; and my husband got the broccoli with chicken. He also got a Thai iced tea which he really liked too. I like their side of chilli pepper, spices, and sauces.
All of the staff member were very nice and attentive. I will be back to try their other dishes another time.
The place seems like a nice hidden gem. With a relaxing looking outside patio to eat as well as a welcoming inside as well. Wasn't too impressed with the pineapple curry I got compared to other Thai restaurants. I will definitely be going back to check out how the rest of the food is and give it a second try just because of the atmosphere itself.
I had four items off the menu..the Pumpkin curry was the Best I ever had! The coconut soup was terrible. It has no sweet or sour just coconut flavor. The fish cakes about gagged us..but the cucumber salad that came with it was awesome. I would definitely go back for the curry..but will skip the soup and fish cakes.
The interior decor was a pleasant surprise compared to the strip mall exterior. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I started with the green papaya salad which was more authentic than most with a nice level of spice. I was a little surprised that the spicy garlic seafood came without rice, it could have used an accompaniment. The mango sticky rice was wonderful.
Some of the best Thai food I've had. They have a selection of side sauces that are super tasty, some spicy n some hot! The portions were huge and we had enough for lunch the next day.
The service was OUTSTANDING! Our waiter knew every dish and was able to make some great recommendations.
If you love Thai food you have to experience this place.
