For my 8 yo birthday she wanted steak so we picked Texas Roadhouse on Shadeland to celebrate. We went straight from hike at Ft. Ben. We got lost on our hike and hurried up to the restaurant and ordered our food.
Food was amazing but service was poor and sad.
The front desk girls were cheerful and excited to have us. But when our waiter came, he took our orders. Got our food to us and never showed up until it was check time.
It killed our celebration spirit.
I agree my kids are slow and the staff had to wait a bit after closing time. But again, it’s service industry! It is expected of exceptional service no matter what the circumstances are.
The whole time I tried to finish my drink while my kids ate, the staff won’t stop staring and laughing at us. They were so RUDE. When my birthday child asked for a cheesecake (it’s literally served COLD) she was told “kitchen closed.”
And I said cheesecake is literally served cold, you get it out of the fridge and give it to the child. My husband and I are in the food Industry and understand the nuances of it. But to say NO to a child with sad face was a mistake.
We never received such a rude service.
On top of all these the rudest thing that was told to me and my kids (8 yo and 6 yo) when we were walking out was- “THANK YOU JESUS.”
And laughed at us.
This is no way to treat customers who stopped by to celebrate their child’s birth. This didn’t stop us from tipping them well but we left with disappointment.
NEVER going back there!
I got the family bundle of chicken tender. The food was decent but the chicken tender was small. But good. Just expected normal size tenders
UPDATE: Great place good drinks. My only complaint is my steak was overcooked. I ordered medium rare but arrived medium well! Time to retrain your cook. The waiteess even stated mine was not the first complaint about the steaks.
I placed a carry out order and I arrived early was told to wait in my car. As soon as the text came in I was inside to pick up my order. It was cold allready. My steak was supposed to be rare but it was medium well at best. They forgot my rolls but I realized it and asked for them.
Service was good and food good but steaks were not cooked like asked and had to send one back but overall a good experience!
It was a bit of a sketchy town. There was a police officer inside walking around because the place can get a bit rowdy at times. Food was pretty good. Not the best ever but it wasn't terrible by any means. Waitress was exceptionally wonderful!
Riley was absolutely wonderful, and so was the food but went to go to the bathroom and need less to say three workers where in there vaping which I mean what ever but when your busy and being an owner of a company my self this would not fly what so ever and then leaving the bathroom in this condition absolutely makes me sick. WILL NOT BE RETURNING
Today is Father's Day and I used the waitlist option when we left the house 12:30pm. The waitlist time was predicted at 30-45 minutes so we texted when we got to the place and waited another 5 minutes to be called in. I was surprised how easy the process was. We were seated and given their famous rolls and Cinnamon butter. The server was nice and friendly. I felt like I needed a drink of water before it actually came but then our adult beverages came after that. The food was good as always. We got some boxes to go and I had to have the check corrected (we were charged for the kids drinks that should have been included). Overall a very nice trip with good service and good food. I wish it was a place we could afford more often than 2-3 a year. They need to Amp their VIP club with some more perks than just a free app on your birthday!
