Taqueria El Mexicano is one of many taquerias hidden within shopping centers in this area in Maryland. I stopped in for a Saturday lunch. Here’s my experience:
1) Food: They have a full menu of tacos from pollo to carnitas and many other items like burritos. Even though Yelp directed me to the tacos, I ordered a carnitas burrito. I have no regrets. The burrito is stuffed with rice, buttery carnitas and veggies. It comes with a green salsa and a red salsa both with the right amount of kick. I added an orange can soda bringing my bill to $11. Not a bad deal at all!
2) Service: The staff are nice, but I did have to wait for 25 minutes for my burrito to go. There was a healthy flow of customers, but not that many to cause a delay.
3) Atmosphere: It’s what you want in an authentic taqueria- decorations on the wall that take you to Latin America and simple tables.
If you love a good burrito, check out this spot!
Tacos Al Pastor were amazing for this area (not as good as the ones available in Mexico City). It was a bit more expensive than I expected. I’d love to come back to try other items.
Tacos de Birria are amazing, staff is friendly, I’d definitely suggest going with three. Was worth the drive.
Small place in a little strip mall with delcious, authentic food. The carne asada was delicious, but the mole is the real star. Everything comes with fresh sauces, tortillas and superb pinto beans. The salad was a little wilted and an after thought, but everything else fresh and good.
This was a great place to stop and eat. Took me home for a little bit. Good flavor, great customer service authentic feel... obviously.
I recently purchased 2 tacos, one pastor and one carnitas. The tacos were good. They also provided salsas with a side of cucumbers and radish. There are no prices on the menu, so you need to ask. My tacos were $4.50 each. They have others that cost more.
$9.00 it was bad; a big torta with only two sheets of ham and this tomatoe. Delicious but very unfair ????
Burrito was tasty, pasole was solid, tacos were tasty ( but steep in price), papusas were okay. Friendly staff, who were very helpful. The space could use a solid cleaning, but we were there towards the end of the day, so that may have played a part.
