Was looking for some great Mexican food after returning from the statue of liberty cruise. Found this tiny food spot in the heart of downtown NJ. Amazing tacos and quesadillas. The margaritas were superb too! Definitely try it if you're in the area. It's a bit of a cramped space but got that authentic Mexican charm. Basically, it's not any of the fancy stuff in big Mexican restaurants and just the real deal- amazing food!
Good Mexican spot in downtown Jersey City that has tasty food that is well priced. Tight seating arrangements with a lively atmosphere. I wasn't blown away by anything, but the meal was good and affordable. The chips for the table were unevenly salted and we had to wait for water, even though we requested it with our drink order.
Cute little spot! Smaller, tightly packed seating. We had to wait on a Monday night at 8pm for approx 10-20mins for a seat by the bar.
The lamb and pork tacos were good. Their hibiscus margarita was nice and refreshing.

Most authentic Mexican food you will ever taste in North Jersey. Some of them already come with a little spice. The house margaritas? You can never go wrong. Delicious! You walk into a basement can get very busy in the summer but when I’m in town, this is definitely my goal-to whether I’m out for the day time or night time!
Before your butt hits the seat, someone is placing some excellent chips and salsa on the table. You now know you've made the right choice of where to indulge in your taco craving. Or quesadillas. I'm personally fond of the lamb tacos - you can opt for spicy or not.
There are a lot of decent tacos in Jersey City (less so in Hoboken unfortunately). Taqueria is the king. No matter which taco you get, it tastes excellent and the pricing is fair. ($3.50 each) Also asked for a whisky sour - $8. Wild right?
Staff are also very friendly!

Being a foreigner is hard. This place makes it a bit easier. Authentic Authentic Authentic! Best Jamaica Ive had since Arizona, Torta was 10/10. Price to quality is incredible. Im from out of state but will def be coming back.
This small venue was completely packed at lunchtime. We were seated immediately at the very last table available. The food was outstanding, but the presentation has work to do. The food was served on paper plates, which were served on top of red baskets. This isn't a huge issue, but I would imagine serving on a plate would enhance the experience. Although the portions are a little small, the price makes up for it. This also kind of allows you to try many different things as it's rather inexpensive. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the visit!
Taqueria is my favorite place for tacos and margs. The extra long lines are worth the hype in this tiny joint. Hard to practice self control on the chips, salsa, and guacamole. It’s so good. Fish tacos, cactus, and carnitas are bomb. Don’t forget to get a tamale and a spicy margarita. ;)
