Definitely recommend! Weekends are crowded, but it's worth it! Wait, it wasn't bad. People go in and eat and get out! There are restrooms, and the guys there are friendly, helpful, and very efficient! 10/10, coming back to try their tortas, which looked delicious! My kids and I loved it here
Had al pastor, steak, and lengua... steak and al pastor were delicious. The lengua was ok, I've had much better. Skip the lengua, get the steak and pastor. The salsa has a nice kick to it, love the zanahorias. Agua de tamarindo was nice. I really like the strawberry shake, but the tacos were so large I was massively full. Oh we also had a side of beans, they're good, but I don't think they use lard. They would be better if they did, but they're still good. Try them.
My friends and I stopped by on a Saturday evening, and it was pretty packed, though we were luckily able to get seated immediately. Once seated, we got some complimentary carrots and peppers, which had a pleasant sour / pickled flavor.
They have a decent amount of vegetarian options, but none are very inventive (just avocado or beans, that’s it). All the meat options looked pretty good— they have an open kitchen, so you can see all the meats being cut and cooked on the grill at the front of the restaurant, which is cool.
I ordered the Birria Torta, which was solid. The bread was simultaneously soft and crispy— a good texture combo, and the meat was good— albeit slightly dry and lacking in flavor. It had a generous amount of sauce / sour cream inside, which improved the flavor profile. Being so packed with meat, it was pretty hard to consume in one piece without completely falling apart in my hands. Otherwise, it was overall pretty good and for ~$12 including tip, it was solid value.
I thought the prices were standard and reasonable (though maybe a bit on the higher side for certain menu items) relative to other Mexican restaurants in the area. Our waitstaff was friendly and the food came out quickly. You pay at the front, and though they take both cash and card, they add a 3.5% surcharge for cards.

Decent restaurant in the little village neighborhood of Chicago.
They serve a carrot appetizer dish instead of chips and salsa. Didn't really like it that much.
They have tacos with different types of meats, which taste ok.
The guy serving food is very fast and efficient. Food is not that expensive.
They have plenty of parking across the street at the laundromat.
I saw this place on TikTok, (we are from Houston and were visiting but wanted some good tacos). We got asada and lengua, the tacos were very good. We also got limonada and horchata, we were expecting freshly made limonada but it was just like a Minute Maid lemonade so that was a bummer. There were no chips or appetizers just some carrots and jalapeños. We did like the tacos but the food was just overpriced. We paid $107 (including the tip) for 13 tacos and 5 aguas.
Super fast service, their barbacoa taco was really good, the atotonilco taco was good but is not my favorite, I feel like the sour cream took away from it and finally the chorizo taco, they serve it with lettuce & tomato which I was not expecting and the chorizo needed to be cook some more.
The chopping can get super loud but the worse part of this experience is that as a thank you for visiting their restaurant, they charge you 4% to pay with your credit card‼️I know that there are plenty of credit card processors charging 1% ????this has to be a way to push people to use cash… it angers me because they are taking money from hardworking people
The only one hurt here was my waiter as I only had sufficient cash to pay for my food.
I can not support this business until they stop this practice, businesses should offer credit card payments free of charge as providing other form of payments benefit the business.
Good place to get freshly made Mexican food. I think of it as a food truck but in a restaurant. It's all self-service . CASH ONLY! Don't miss the rice pudding!!
Torta de milanesa doble carne, plus two tacos de al pastor extra salsa, plus can’t forget the licuado de fresa large. The pickled carrots are fire especially with they’re salsa. 10/10 will recommend. You’re spending at least $20+ on yourself.
