If I could give zero stars, I would. I was lied to on numerous occasions. Recently, after getting a Virginia inspection, I found out that the inner tie rod was never replaced even though it had been purchased and left with them (installation was paid for as well). This part was what caused it to fail inspection. Randy was the one who did the work and I was shocked to see how I was being treated. I always thought that since they are ASE certified that they would do the best, but I guess sometimes they simply choose not to care. I inspected the work throughly after getting the car back. The front wheels were on so tight I had to take it up to the local mechanic to loosen the lug nuts. Once I looked, I saw they had not put any grease in the outer tie rods; they screwed the grease fittings in but chose not to hook the grease gun to them and grease them. The scanner tool was used a prior time to find that EGR valves #1 and #3 were bad which caused the check engine light to be on. When I left the car, I asked that these be fixed; however, they did something else and the check engine light is still on. He told me that it didn't matter if they were fixed, but I wanted it done so if I saw the light on I knew something really was going on.
The brief of my experience is >>> go to another shop, get a mechanically minded friend to do the work, or teach yourself and do it on your own. Just don't go here.
My wife brought here car in for state inspection. Two days before we had her tires installed at another place I asked the tech to let me see the shoes on the drums. We measured them and they were above 50% life. This shop failed my wife’s car for low shoes in the rear. They had no idea I’ve worked ina shop for the past two years and knew where they measured. We brought it to a shop out of town and said they should have never said we need rear shoes on the drums. We have plenty of life and we past inspection. He told me he would not charge me for the inspection because I called him out. Sorry to be this guy… I work in this industry and hate being this guy. I just side on honest and he knew he was wrong because he didn’t charge or mark the car with a fail. I grew up here but my wife had Colorado plates on her car. Makes me wonder…
Went to 5 other places for an inspection with no luck. Tallies got me in right away for an inspection an was quick and thorough
I did not have any work done at this shop, but I did talk to Randy about a vehicle my son was considering purchasing. He went above and beyond what id expect from a repair shop to make sure I had accurate truthful information. If I lived near tappahannock this would be my go to shop strictly based off Randy.
Tallie’s mechanics fixed my camshaft issue in less than 30 minutes, while literally the entire month of august Andy’s automotive in king William kept dragging it out & charging almost 1,000$ for every visit. I wish I would’ve found Tallie’s sooner they get straight to the point & they are respectful & honest.
Fast service, had a state inspection done.
Honest, reliable, knowledgeable, and very accommodating people here. This is the first place I choose to take my car anywhere within a 50-mile radius of this business.
Very professionale business. Prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this business to others.
