I've seen fish jump onto this bridge it's so low. As for Ode To Billy Joe, the song says he jumped off the bridge. No part says, nor truly implies Billy Joe died from the jump.
But, from the song as they lived on the farm, I'm guessing there was no leftover black eyed peas. There's a lengthy process from harvest to plate with those boogers properly.
Don't follow the GPS to this location! It takes you on old Roebuck Road (442 on the map) that just ends. You can see the road hasn't been driven on or used in many years because the vegetation is reclaiming it. We thought there might be remnants of the old bridge but there is not. I'm not sure why this is even on the map anymore!
So why does anyone think a bridge over the Yazoo River is the Tallahatchie Bridge? The Tallahatchie and Yalobusha rivers join north of Greenwood to form the Yazoo.

I've done my research, the bridge from the song is further north in a place called Money. The original wooden bridge burned down in 1972 and has been rebuilt
