Best WLM Reviews
This restaurant is open very early and sells breakfast mainly. We were there around 12:40pm, and most of the breakfast items sold out already. We didn't get to try the breakfast items that we wanted to try. Anyway, we ordered spicy tender and beef noodle and original tender and beef noodle which are a bit expensive and the soup tasted ok to me. I would not order again. Kids like the popcorn chicken, but I think it's too greasy. Our server is very nice though. However, they charged me 3% extra when paying with a credit card. Not sure if this is normal here.
We had breakfast here and food was great. We tried the egg pancake with fried egg, onion cake with egg, soy milk and Chinese donut. All were very delicious! This place is quite busy, so may need to wait for a bit, but definitely worth it. Pricing is so decent too.
Very authentic Taiwanese breakfast! Highly recommended!
Note: they close early if they are sold out, so if you are heading to the restaurant after 12 noon, I would highly suggest you call them to make sure the items you plan to order aren’t sold out yet ;)
The long list of what we ordered haha:
1. Salted soy milk - love love love, we plan to go back on Friday and will reorder
2. egg cake with Chinese donut - my personal favorite
3. Green onion pancake with egg - also a yummy and very filling dish, but I personally prefer the egg cake with donut better
4. pickled cucumber - my husband couldn’t stop eating this
5. seasoned seaweed - it’s a bit too tough to my liking, but my husband like it
6. oyster omelet - a super traditional Taiwanese dish and I think the manager even came out to check who ordered it because I guess only those who know Taiwanese cuisine well appreciate this dish haha
7. Taiwanese temple meatball - also a super traditional Taiwanese dish and my husband’s favorite. He plans to order it again on Friday
8. Spicy beef noodle soup - my husband was already so full from all the dishes, but he still drank the soup because it was so delicious. The owner was so nice and gave us extra soup when we asked for a to-go box. The leftovers became his dinner that day
I did notice a 15% gratuity automatically added to the bill. When the owner collected the signed receipts from the customers, she reminded each table that gratuity had already been added if customers added additional tips. She made sure customers didn’t add additional tips by accident. She explained the reason why she started adding of a gratuity automatically was because of a bad experience with a previous large group of customers. To protect her employees, she decided to add auto gratuity on the bills, and posted a notice at the restaurant entrance, so the customers were aware of the new policy. If customers aren’t comfortable with the 15% automatic tips added to their bills, they have a choice not to dine in. I understand this auto-gratuity for all bills is uncommon for Asian restaurants, but I also understand the owner’s perspective. And to be honest, I would tip them at least 15% anyway, because of the excellent food and service we received. I personally would definitely return whenever we are in Vegas, and we would highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for an authentic Taiwanese breakfast place.
Staff is friendly, food is mediocre, under expected, not genuine enough for me. Oyster pancake too sweet, salt and pepper chicken too small pieces, steam pork dumplings too dry, beef shank and tendon too oily.???? hope the owner see this and improve how your food preparing, soy milk was good tho.
Our experience at Taiwan Deli was a mixed bag. While the staff was friendly and welcoming, some aspects of the food left something to be desired. The Chinese Donuts and Egg Scallion Pancake were tasty, albeit a bit oily. Unfortunately, the xiao long bao and pork dumplings fell short of expectations, being below average in taste and quality. This disappointment made us hesitant to try other menu items, such as the pork chop rice with egg. Overall, Taiwan Deli has potential, but improvements are needed in certain areas to elevate the dining experience. Three stars.
We didn’t really have to wait to eat. The waiter was nice and let us know when it was enough food for two people. We tried a variety of items and they were all fresh. We ordered soy milk, salted river roll, radish cake, green onion pancake, and oyster omelet. Prices are expensive but we were in the mood for Taiwanese breakfast.
Oh my gosh I miss Taiwan Deli so much. I was in Vegas for about a month not too long ago for work and I think I came here every day. I got takeout most of the time. I'm a Taiwanese American, and let me tell you. This place is the real deal. Other places that say Taiwanese cuisine usually is mostly Chinese or Cantonese cuisine. However, Taiwan Deli has legit Taiwanese food.
Prices are reasonable and the food is authentic and great. I always feel at home here bc the uncles and aunties are so warm and welcoming. I highly recommend!!
We went to this restaurant for a quick bit of breakfast/lunch before starting our day. We selected so many dim sum and Taiwanese dishes and were not disappointed. We left so full! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and checked on us often. We will be back!
