My to go order!! Sweet and sour chicken, mongolian beef, shrimp dumplings. Flavor was great, good quality and speedy.
they actually have skewers and hotpot on top of authentic Chinese Taishanese food. my family and i went there and ordered some random stuff. the most memorable for me was the “Yellow Eel Clay Pot Rice” and their “Baked Chicken”
We weren’t all that pleased with our dim sum here.
We had BBQ pork buns which were small, not well filled and the flavor was okay.
The sui mai was better, and the sesame balls were over fried…
I won’t be coming back
We came here for Dim Sum. There are some promotions: for $3.8, you get the dish whose regular price is $6 or above. But they limit the promotion to only two dishes.
Dining environment is great and service is awesome!
They use something called 屏风 to separate the tables so it does protect people from virus spread.
They also have VIP rooms.
The place is clean, the menu items have okay translations to English, and the service is pretty good. The food is reasonably priced and comes out quick but not so quick that you think they've been microwaved.
However, the food isn't great. The custard buns are bland and the xiaolongbao comes in little aluminum cups. The top parts look slightly dried while the bottom parts in the aluminum cups look fresh which leads me to believe that they've been sitting for a while in the tins. I haven't tried the hot pot stuff but you can buy better dim sum frozen from the market across the street and heat it up yourself.
Guy working the front door said they had chow fun. he pointed at the menu & said they had chow fun, so we went in. After we sat down & talked to him, no chow fun.... select a bunch of stuff on menu with a dry erase marker. The same door guy was our waiter. He erased stuff we wanted and put other stuff, we said we didn’t want that but he insisted. Our order was wrong when things started arriving, 2 things we ordered never came out, not sure if there was a language barrier, but we tried explaining the order & what the items were, but nothing was clear. We explained items came out that we didn’t order, the guy said we did order that but we didn’t.... food came out all at different times We were the only table in the place, but one other table was sat after us, but it took so long for everything we ordered to arrive especially because they forgot 2 items. When the bill was paid, no tip was left & the guy followed us out of the store arguing that we had to leave a tip, but we didn’t feel like we got the food or service we expected. He kept yelling at us that we had to leave a tip.
For a brand new hot pot place, they did not do any homework. They do not have any dipping condiments other than soy sauce, hot sauce, hot Maggi (this is new to me), satay, and hot oil (which our server was confused over). They didn't even have chicken slices. There are some weird size listings. Like small and large hot pot sizes.
Food is per item which is not well thought out. For instance: small plate of beef (very low quality) $9.95. Enoki Mushroom (which they didn't even have, $9.95.
Quail eggs: looked like they raised the quails themselves and then proceeded to have them lay their eggs and boiled in their restaurant. That's a new trend, backyard to table. Bruh, they looked like that sat around forever and then boiled them, then sent them through a wood chipper to remove the shells. Wife just left them. $9.95 wasted. The welcome sensor kept going off. I think this is an effort to launder money through this place. Think about it. They keep record of how many people come through the door and when tax time come, boom, we have many peoples through the door.
The owners and workers were eating dinner cause they be busy people but seriously, keep your Convo to at least 70db and for the love of god, why did you think you could burp at your establishment. Seriously, one of them straight up sounded like he just downed a root beer and let at it.
This place, if it last more than 6 months is laundering money. I guarantee it.
Authentic taishan cuisine just kinda sad they didn’t have everything on the menu.
