First time going here and the tacos did not disappoint! Definitely worth checking out. I will be coming back I can’t remember the name of one of the bigger tacos but I did post a photo here (the one with guacamole on the side)it’s really filling and very good as well.
First thing I notice about El Sauz JR is the service. A++ for that. Ordered online, but the cool wanted to wait for me to get there so that I would be able to take the food home freshly made.
Second thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the place and how organized everything seemed to be.
Lastly was the food. When i got home, the food was nice and warm. I ordered a carne asada taco ($2.30) fish taco ($2.30), and shrimp taco ($2.30), a chicken quesadilla ($9.09), carne asada burrito ($11.85), carne asada torta ($9.75) and side of fries ($2.99). Carne asada was a bit dry, chicken was a bit dry. Fish was moist and had good flavor. Salsa's were excellent and there's plenty of food for the price!
I'll have to try them out again since El Sauz is down the street. I'm hoping this is a one off in the cooking department.
Parking is sufficient but it's shared with with other business' in a strip mall.
The crunchy tripa taco is fire !
Do not recommend. Below average Mexican food in the area.
Food was packaged nicely but didn’t deliver on flavor.
Carnitas were super dry, almost like crispy bacon. Asada was burnt and dry.
Burrito was over 60% rice.
Pretty disappointed. Recommend the the restaurant to increase quality.
Trashed over half the food. It was just bad.
Very good tacos and menus to that just too good to pass up. Especially if you want just some desserts, the ice cream is huge especially when its for $1.50. Everything in the menu is too good to pass up when you want a snack or to dine in
First time and debating whether to come back or not. I ordered the fish tacos and even when the fish was cooked at the moment, it needed a little more flavor. Did not want the rice, so bit portion of beans which they tasted a little old or maybe sitting on heat for too long. The guacamole tasted good. Service was good, right when I came in, the order taker asked what I'd like to order, asked if they had fish tacos, I was expecting beer batter fish tacos, but the healthier choice was okay too.
I really hope the owner knows how valuable his cook is. I hope the cook knows how valuable he is!
We keep coming back because of the cook- perfect carne asada tacos every time. We don’t keep coming back for the customer service provided by the cashiers taking the orders- even tho the cook steps in for that too sometimes! It’s the cook- you know that natural joy someone has when they’re doing something they love? That’s the cook there. He’s amazing. We come back because the food is good and the cook is a welcoming energy there.
Their tripas tacos is very crispy, I suspect they deep fried their tripas. Suadero is good, but Al Pastor just average.
Their green salsa is quite hot compare to other's in the area.
