Stopped for a quick bite on our way to Hearst Castle. Ordered a few different varieties of tacos for $3 a taco. Food was prepared fast, in 5 minutes. Carne asada tacos were good, with a slightly spicy green salsa. Carnitas and el pastor tacos were disappointing and lacking flavor. Good spot to stop for a quick bite.
PSA: This is absolutely not a breakfast burrito spot. I ordered a bacon and egg burrito and added avocado on a Sunday morning. Picked it up and brought it home….no avocado, which I had paid for. ($31 for 2 burritos and a soda). There was a watery green salsa and when I called back to tell her the avo was missing from both, she said “let me ask the cooks…. they added guac”. Ok 1) I didn’t ask for guac, and you need to specify that when someone adds avocado. And 2) There was also nothing resembling avocado there. I ended up bringing this “bacon” to their attention because it looked and tasted like chopped up spam (pictured). When I went back, the owner said, “yeah it’s turkey bacon”. What!! You need to specify what kind of bacon is in your burrito if it’s not bacon. It was so salty and bad. The egg was also the folded rubbery kind of egg you get in a fast food breakfast sandwich. It was 90% rice and spam. Just a travesty all around. The owner was kind enough to refund my entire purchase, so this is just so others know. I’d go back and get tacos or enchiladas, but never ever a breakfast burrito from here again!!! Positives: friendly staff, huge burrito, clean environment. Owners: please fix these ingredients or train your staff to tell customers what your “avocado” and “bacon” are! This should be taken off your menu.
Authentic no frills Mexican restaurant, conveniently located off HWY 1 and the 101 in SLO. Fair prices, fresh ingredients, authentic taste and large portions.
Our family ordered the daily special fish burrito, al pastor burrito, chicken tacos, rice/beans, and chips & salsa. Everything was excellent and would order again! The burritos were very large, and could easily be shared, with good amount of meat. We also sampled 3 of their salsas, which were all great as well.
There are several booths inside to eat, and a larger patio adjacent to the road. Parking lot was small but adequate, and there is a tiny bathroom outside as well.
We’ve been coming here for years. Never had any problems. Today I ordered taquitos that were on special for $9.75. And I was served taquitos from the freezer isle at smart and final. They were hard a brick. Sad to see prices go up and quality go down.
I paid $18 dollars for a burrito and a drink was not happy I came down here to wrk from Oxnard there burrito had just way to much rice I’ll I can taste was the rice very little asada no meat flavor at all will not be coming back here again was better off going to jack in the box but oh well lesson learned to expensive for just a rice a burrito.
My husband has raved about this burritos forever. We drove 27+ hours straight from Texas and this was our first stop. Soooo good!
Never been here before, I decided to order a chicken burrito with sour cream and hot salsa. The burrito has great flavor, but I paid extra for sour cream and didn't get any in my burrito. I'm highly annoyed by this. I'm in town for a few days, maybe I'll go back and see if they'll credit to me on another meal, if not I'll just go somewhere else after I update my review.
The food is 100/100. It’s the most authentic, delicious taco in San Luis. The thing to keep in mind is the food. The location leaves much to be desired, it’s small and can be messy but I’m usually willing to look past it all of my carnitas and chips. The price is rite and the flavor is on point.
