Quick Facts About Reptile City

Reptile City has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. It is important to consider these different perspectives in order to get a comprehensive understanding of the store.
Starting with the strengths, multiple comments mention the nostalgic and retro atmosphere of the store. The decor is described as reminiscent of the '50s and '60s, with old-time music playing and an old-fashioned soda bar. This unique style provides a distinctive and enjoyable experience for customers. Additionally, the food is praised as very good, and the prices are considered fair. This combination of good quality and reasonable prices is likely to attract customers and keep them satisfied.
Another strength mentioned is the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. One commenter mentions that the people in the shop have tons of information on anything in the shop and are very helpful with animals and tanks. This is crucial for a store that specializes in reptiles, as customers often require guidance and advice on caring for their pets. Having knowledgeable staff members who are willing to share their expertise can greatly enhance the customer experience and build trust.
Furthermore, Reptile City is praised for its consistency and variety. One comment mentions that the store is always there rain, shine, or holiday, which indicates a commitment to providing a reliable and accessible service. Additionally, it is mentioned that the store has a good variety of products, which can attract a wide range of customers looking for different reptile-related items.
However, there are also weaknesses pointed out in the comments. One major concern is the poor treatment of animals in the store. Comments mention multiple instances of animals being kept inappropriately, such as hamsters being housed together despite being solitary animals and reptiles lacking heat sources and proper enclosures. This raises concerns about the store's commitment to animal welfare and their knowledge of appropriate care practices. Such conditions can lead to stress, disease, and even death for the animals.
Another weakness mentioned is the presence of unsanitary conditions. One comment mentions that the store was dirty, and another mentions people smoking in the store. Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment is crucial for the health and well-being of both the animals and the customers. Smoking indoors not only poses a health risk to both animals and humans but also creates an unpleasant and unprofessional atmosphere.
Additionally, there are concerns about the advice given by the staff. One comment mentions being recommended an unsuitable enclosure for a ball python, with the commenter arguing that ball pythons are terrestrial and need more ground space. This suggests a lack of accurate information and expertise on the part of the staff. Giving incorrect advice to customers can result in the improper care of pets, potentially leading to health issues or even death.
In conclusion, Reptile City has strengths such as its nostalgic atmosphere, reasonable prices, knowledgeable staff, and variety of products. However, there are significant weaknesses related to animal welfare, cleanliness, and the quality of advice provided. It is important that these weaknesses be addressed in order for Reptile City to maintain its reputation and ensure the well-being of their animals and customers.

Best KBFKR Reviews

Like walking back in time. The decor is set up for some time in the '50s and '60s. It's old time music playing and an old fashioned soda bar. Food was very good and prices were fair.
I went in to buy some frozen pinkies and all of them were frozen together in the same bag and two of them were so rotten, you couldn’t even tell they were mice. The problem was addressed, and I was given a full refund. But they were seen by two employees before they were sold to me. It seems like they were purposely sold knowing that were rotten, frozen together and essentially unusable. They have 5 hamsters in the same cage and hamsters are very much solitary animals who cannot be kept together or they will fight/kill eachother. Like 5 ball pythons in the same enclosure one of them looking to have neurological issues as it kept flipping its head upside down. On a separate occurrence I was recommended a tall narrow enclosure for a ball python when they are terrestrial and need more ground space than anything. Then was argued with that ball pythons enjoy climbing. But no they are terrestrial just because they can climb doesn’t mean they enjoy it or even should as it could injure them because they aren’t good climbers. Leaving this here for other people to see and make their own call. Not for conflict this is simply my personal experience.
Great for a flea market store. Good variety, always there rain shine or holiday. And treat you like family.
Great people with tons of info on anything in the shop, very helpful with information with all animals ,tanks etc will be coming back
Reptiles had no heat sources and were cold to the touch, store was dirty, people were smoking in the store. I was very upset with how they were taking care of there animals.
Pretty much all of the reptiles were being kept with multiple others. There were even 4-5 juvenile ball pythons in one tank and not a single hide. The leopard geckos I saw were also pretty skinny and it seemed like none of them had any UVB (and they didn't have any natural sunlight on them to substitute it) The snakes seemed very stressed (attempting to climb up the walls and escape) while others looked fatigued. It was sad to see them like this, and even if these were just temporary enclosures, it doesn't seem safe for the animals at all.
Very reasonable and friendly folks I recommend them for sure
Very knowledgeable about reptiles, helped us with our baby snake.
