It's always a pleasure to get a roll thrown at me!! The portions are huge, so be ready to take food to go. Also, people pass by offering okra and other sides on top of what you ordered! To my Generation X friends. Bring your readers!! The menu is kinda small for us. Fun for all ages and they have a gift shop. Highly recommended.
Dang was this place good, it has been one of the restaurant highlights of my stay in MO. Lambert's is definitely a place you should go to, but probably not before you do the things you want to do in Springfield. You are definitely gonna need a nap right after eating here.
From the moment you sit down, to the moment you leave they are trying to fill your plate with their delicious warmed rolls and their sides of the day.
On a recommendation, I got the Chicken Fried Steak with a side of Corn and Fried Apples. Their sides were Tomato Macaroni, Black Eyed Peas, Potatoes and Onions (Get this), and Fried Okra. Their hog jowl is unmatched. Imagine crispy bacon, with a chewy inside. Smoky and delicious.
Everything was delicious from top to bottom, and we even made sure to get a Cinnamon Roll to go.
I cannot recommend this place enough if you want solid American food and some of the best rolls in MO.
Definitely a novelty restaurant.

The price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get.
I had fried shrimp ~ it was well over 15 large shrimp. The other ladies had chicken fried steak ~ HUGE and average tasting.
The best was the servers walking around with bowls of fried potatoes and onions, fried okra, tomatoe macaroni salad ~ so so so yummy!!????

I was given a fresh serving of potatoes and onions, hot roll just before packing up my leftovers.

The food was so good. They had people coming around with pots and you could get things life fried okra, black eyes peas, fried potatoes, etc.
Of course there is also the famous thrown rolls. They are absolutely fantastic, they even had honey on the table to go with them.
We got there at 10am and got seated right away. When we left shortly after 11 the line was wrapping around the building, so get there early.
Lambert’s is just fun! If you haven’t been and are in the area, Lambert’s is definitely worth the stop. Both our Littles thoroughly enjoyed the game of trying to catch the fresh rolls that the staff threw their direction. If you aren’t familiar with Lambert’s roll throwing, it is really fun and a sight to see. I tried their fried chicken and it was great! I really enjoyed it and the sides. Mrs. Flip Out had their fried catfish and shared with Littlest Flip Out. Little Flip Out enjoyed the kids hamburger. The portions are generous and you will not leave hungry. We didn’t have room for dessert but got the cinnamon roll to go and it was plenty for the 4 of us to share at breakfast the next morning. It’s awesome!
What a great experience and surprise. We were traveling and purely happened upon this awesome, fun place.

This is a must visit if you are in this area. Great food and great fun.
This reminds me of Cracker Barrel, but they throw the rolls!!! When you travel, you get to try foods that's seasoned differently than you are used to. The food wasn't bad just different. They give you a ton of food. I tried the Liver, mashed potatoes, corn, and roll. The salads are huge and I would get that next time hands down.
Oh, they add a fee to your service if you use a credit card that we were not told about.
A great time with our group and the staff with the service.
First timers. Didn't really know what to expect. Wow, we were impressed. The food was great! Service is even better! The staff was very friendly and helped us rookies make great choices off the menu.
