Good thing I'm fat or else I couldn't have helped finish the generous family style meal. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The waiter was right on top of things too. The chicken was perfect and I really liked the soup. I don't know what they put on the noodles; I loved it. I will definitely be back.
We’ve been there when our son was little many years ago. Revisiting was a new experience with echos from the past. The decor appears to be a lot more elaborate, the crowds grew much larger (wish we could be contacted by text when a table becomes available) but the menu remains pretty much the same. It’s an all you can eat chicken dinner served family style. Loved the appetizers, particularly the liver pâté. The highlight of the dinner, however, was the cranberry sauce with apples and orange juice. It’s delicious. The fried chicken was tasty but salty. The rotisserie chicken was fine. Sarah was efficient and attentive enough in tending to our needs on an extremely busy day.
Zhender’s of Frankenmuth for two piece chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, dressing, and coleslaw with Amy! This was so much food. They also offered an all you can eat option which meant you were basically getting one of everything on the menu. Shew. We couldn’t finish our two piece dinners! The skin on this chicken. It deserves a medal. Crunchy and salty and delicious. Amy, our server, was quick, personable, and offered great suggestions for shops in town.
Had Christmas dinner here with some friends, and it was absolutely wonderful! The fried chicken was cooked perfectly...among the best I've had anywhere in the United States, the building is historic, and beautifully decorated. The sides were delicious, and the price was unbelievably low for what we got. I will be back again...try it out!
Everything in the meal was incredible and service was great! All you can eat and anything left over can be taken home. We left with 3 large take out boxes - essentially a second meal for each. The chicken is the best part. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Best bloody Mary we've had in a long time. Chicken was amazing, especially when you add extra zehnders chicken seasoning. Smoked Brats with Sour Kraut were delicious.
Tourist attraction. Fast, friendly, family atmosphere. Service is wonderful. The food is beyond bland & probably good to those who do not cook at home. The chicken is not seasoned at all... I couldn't believe it. Definitely avoid if hungry for delicious meal. However, if you want the experience...by all means..try it.
The chicken, buttered egg noodles, and cabbage salad were all so good! I'd go back just for the noodles. Our waitress was wonderful and so attentive. Such a neat building and environment, but I would have liked to sit in one of the upstairs dining rooms with more natural light/windows. We were seated in an overflow basement dining room, which was still a pleasant space and decorated beautifully. Just a heads up, you have to ask for a LUNCH MENU if you want lunch prices and portions. We only knew there was a lunch menu because we had viewed the website prior. We then overheard a waiter tell the table behind us, when they asked about a lunch menu, that they only bring them out if requested, which I guess is their way of getting their customers to pay more (and tip more) for dinner portions (not the best business practice, in my opinion). Lunch portions are plenty for the average person, so ask for the lunch menu if you're visiting during lunch.
I'm only giving 4 stars because we had made reservations in advance for an early lunch time, got there right before our reservation time, and we ended up waiting 45 minutes after our reservation time before we were even seated. We were only 2 people and there were other parties with more people who were walk-ins without reservations being seated before us. We checked on the status of our table/reservation with the hostess 4 times before they sent us to another area downstairs to wait in a long line of people to be seated in that dining room. It was frustrating and not the most efficient process. When we got there and checked in there were probably 8 people, including us, in the lobby area waiting for tables, then it quickly turned into over 100 people. It was loud, crowded, and not pleasant. Once we finally got to a table, everything with the food and waitress was perfect.
