Chapala's is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Eugene. The food portions are generous, even on the lunch menu. The prices are reasonable, especially the lunch special price. I highly recommend this place the next time you want Mexican for lunch!
I ordered a new dish to me, sorry I forgot the name, it was okay.i took some black bean soup home with me. It's very good. Just note at the bottom of the container is sour cream. I just scooped out a bowl for lunch. The next day I emptied the container and found the sour cream. That made a big difference, it's very good.
Several people in our group had pizza and raved how good it was.
Ordered a fajita salad + all veggies and shrimp. Waitress didn't seem to know what I meant even though it was on the menu. Sodas didn't come until after the food was served. No dressing, had to ask, she'll tasted a week old. Employee in bathroom didn't wash his hands after going back to work. Had to get a manager to cash us out, she charged me for chicken even though it's supposed to come with the salad. $25 for a salad that had undercooked veggies, next to no chicken and no dressing, what a waste of time and money.
We were looking for a place with a booth, chips and good food.
Unfortunately the food was undesirable. Lacking basic elements such as salt and it felt like it may have been microwaved as the shrimp were little rubber rocks. Service was not bad, not good. There are so many great food trucks around, just wish they could replace the food in a place like this, so I could get booths, chips and great food. Didn't find it here and wouldn't come again.
Also I do acknowledge there are folks around that appreciate really bland Mexican-American food, so I get that perhaps this establishment is trying to appeal to that pallet. Please consider adding basic elements in reasonable proportions (like salt). Thanks!
The food is great, warm chips salsa served right away, staff are nice and welcoming and it’s a nice comfy environment. Drinks are very strong and delicious as well!????
Margaritas are legit. The fajitas fell kinda flat. No char. Dry meat. Not a lot of flavor. The service was good tho. It's hard to get good fajitas this far from the Mexican border I know. I grew up in Texas so I'm spoiled. Over all this is a decent place and I would go back again
Food was good, I've experienced better seasoning on the veggie Enchiladas in other Mexican restaurants, but these were pretty good. The salsa is awesome! Chips served warm! I like that they have black beans and brown rice that's vegan! The kiddos had black bean burritos with with guacamole.
I sat at the host station for 20 minutes and not one employee came to the front to greet or seat me…ever. I just walked out. Multiple staff looked over to me from the floor. They chose this to ignore me. DO NOT EAT HERE
