Fantastic! Friendly service, flavorful food, tasty margarita. Their refried beans are some of the best I have ever had.
While the food was hot and served extremely quickly, it was a bit lacking in flavors. I'm no fan of spicy food, preferring mild levels of heat, but Chapala's food is bland. The chips were fantastic, margaritas tasty, and the meal overall was a delight. The table service will amaze you.
I thought the music was plenty loud. We usually have great service there but tonight, the waitress seemed like she was too busy with other customers to give us much attention. It didn't seem to be busy there. Might have just been an off night. I don't know.
In my opinion, the chips always taste stale.
Been eating here for over 10 years now. My wife and I just get the fajitas for 2. We have tried other dishes which were OK but we are Fajita fans. We almost always have leftovers to take home to enjoy. The service is hit and miss every time. Sometimes I'm very impressed and other times it's like they forget you exist. But overall we will keep coming back.
We used to come here all the time but when we came back recently the food was bland and service was slow (not busy in the restaurant, we think the server forgot to put our order in) there was no guacamole on either of our dishes but the waitress didn't mention being out. Two different drinks were completely flat/watery.
They charged the full 3.50 for my kid's drink and gave her a giant glass with no lid (she's 4!) If you have a kid's meal a smaller drink (cheaper) should be offered! As it stands it was over $11 for 1/3 glass of lemonade, a few fries and one half a tortilla with cheese inside.
Food was good, but I'm not sure what it was, but I got really sick shortly after eating, my husband didn't get as sick. We didn't share or try eachothers food, but the only thing we did share was the salsa. I ordered the chicken chipotle burrito, my husband had the chorizo egg dish (forgot what it's called).
The service is excellent and the salsa was good.
The margarita was not good, but was very strong which I guess is good considering the price. The entrees had no flavor. At our table of seven I think my daughter was the only one happy with her order--the chicken strips and fries.
I liked the rice, but my tacos were such a disappointment AND they're the priciest plate of street tacos in the cedar valley.
Tldr; this is the most I've spent on Mexican food locally and by far the worst food I've gotten for my money.
Unfortunately my experience was just alright. I didn't have a bad experience by any means, but it was just overall just average.
Some good things to note are the friendliness of the staff, quick service, and clean restaurant. The staff were always there to get you more water or salsa. The food came out hot, it tasted good, and the portions were decent.
While I thought the food tasted good, i felt the presentation and quality of the ingredients was lacking (for the Pollo Fundido at least). Seeing photos of other dishes online makes me interested in coming back and trying something new.
