Best WLM Reviews
Every time we come here the service is not great. We understand that it can get busy, however that is never an excuse for the terrible service we received tonight. To start off, we placed a to go order when ordering our food and asked that it be placed when we received our food. After waiting an hour the “to go” order was the first thing ready. It was called out at the window and our server said it was supposed to be done after the dine in meals. It then sat on a warmer and was brought out with the rest of the order 10 minutes later. During the hour+ of waiting, we were not checked on once until we got our food. One of our meals were fine but the other two were bad. For one of the meals, the noodles were hard and undercooked and the Alfredo sauce was the constancy of water and had no flavor. Our other meal was supposed to be a plain hamburger but our server said “I know she doesn’t like the vegetables, but I’m too lazy to pick them off”. That “to go” meal ended up sitting for close to an hour and a half. It would have been no big deal with the burger being made incorrectly, if it wouldn’t have sat for as long as it did. Neither of these two meals were even half eaten. After the one decent meal was eaten, one of the table runners took our plates. After another half hour of servers walking past and not being checked on, I finally went up and asked for our check and ended up waiting another ten minutes for it. After receiving the bill they walked away before I could even hand them my card that was already out. Another 10 minutes went by and I had to ask a table runner to take the bill. At this point I was very frustrated and had asked politely for a meal to be comped. When my card was finally brought back, our server put it on the table and walked away without apologizing. At this time, I saw we only received $5 off the bill. Overall, our experience wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if they would have put in the effort to at least check on us.
Great food again. It's not your typical Americana. The food is next level from your standard grill. Fries are crunch with a well done center seasoning is just enough to flavor but not overpower. And the cuts of meat are just a bit better than most places. And the atmosphere is very nice. Dinner menu is even better.
I'd truly like to give this restaurant higher scores, and I would have IF the food would have been actually cooked properly. My chicken (Pollo Maria) was NOT cooked. It was pink and cold in the center. (see picture) My brother's "breaded" walleye sandwich and came out with beer batter and inside the batter was still raw and gooey. We showed our server and he didn't seem to think anything was wrong with it. But did offer to BROIL another filet. (FYI...The "breaded" onion rings also were beer batter.) I took my chicken home and finished cooking it because we had been there 2 hours already.
The service was slow and we understood that there would be a wait. We just wanted our food cooked properly so we wouldn't make anyone sick, basic food safety.
My advice, go during a slow time. I think it would be a much better experience. As for us, we probably won't be returning. Once bitten twice shy.
PS. The French onion soup was really good!
This place is amazing! For being out in the boonies it's great better then anything you can get in the big city's. I went up there for some ice fishing and my buddy took me her because it's the best food around. I will definitely say go to the all you can eat fish and shrimp so good!
They do not have enough servers. The guy who was bartending was also the waiter. He worked hard and was pleasant. But the customer is kept waiting. Watched my Linguine Ala Vodka sit on the shelf for @ 5 minutes before he had time to deliver. It was still hot and delicious!
We went for Friday night fish and shrimp fry dinner. It was SO good! We had a waitress named Sheila that was so kind, we enjoyed her company very much. Make sure you order their au gratin potatoes for a side. Heavenly!!
The cook on the mussels, if you dare to put them on the menu, in a remote area, are the measure of a restaurant. They were top notch, a few more herbs, and some spicy kielbasa, but right up there with the best I’ve had. And we are in the middle of the continent. Great service, delicious food. Stop in.
Great food and a great atmosphere. We love ever experience we have here!
