Best WLM Reviews

The owner is outstanding.
Listens to the customer.
I'm very helpful.
We enjoyed a few very much.
We had a great time there.
I've had Several of my friends meet there for lunch.
We enjoy that so much.
My husband I go to eat sometimes.
That she opened up Her her restaurant so we could hand out things.
To people you need.
I have to revise this review because a Resturant that isn’t open when they are supposed to be open, doesn’t deserve your business.
The reviews I’ve read below, seems like a love hate situation. I am a former chef from Chicago at some French and continental cuisine restaurants, and I also wrote reviews for a small Northshore news paper.
So here is my take on Casa Ruiz. This is a family run business, where two generations of the family do the food prep, cooking, and serving. This Mexican food is authentic cuisine. Except they don’t use lard in their food like most places do. Most food ihere is cooked to order, which is why it might take longer to be served. No, they are not professional corporate restaurant owners, but real people raised and trained in Mexico ????????.
We started with their guacamole ???? which was a blend of onions, tomatoes with spices. The chips were fresh and warm.
Being the first time here my wife ordered three tocos Pastor (pork) and it was delicious, since she asked me to taste some. My Chile Rellenos/Poblano peppers stuffed with cheese Burrito was very tasty, very delicious. I had asked for grilled jalapeños peppers to be added to my dish and it added that extra spark to the burrito. I know that Cafe Ruiz has authentic Mexican food prepared to order.
I hope that this clears up some misconceptions. Before you go, look ???? below ???? and tap on the thumbs up ????.
Thank you.
Michelle, one of the owners came to our table and explained that all orders are freshly made, authentic Mexican dishes. The rice and beans are vegetarian too.
So while you wait for your food, there is chips and salsa or add some freshly made guacamole and one of their awesome margaritas or your beverage of choice and relax!
I ordered the chicken Chimichanga, which came with rice and beans, my friend ordered, the Tacos Ahogados, with just the rice. Both dishes were delicious.
Our waitress Taya, was pleasant and accommodating.
Amazing Service and Food ! We had the most amazing waitress Nancy ???????????? thank you for such great service! Highly recommend this hidden gem right in the heart of Antioch. Their home made sauce is delicious, with just the right amount of picante and flavor.
Authentic. Delicious. We will be back. Simple setting, everything made from scratch, I heard them blend the margarita fresh, which it great (but will take more time as others mentioned). This isn't your "2 mins and food is on your table" type Mexican. They are way more chill! It's delicious and the corn tortillas are made really well!
My fiancé took me to Casa Ruiz for Mother’s Day dinner. From the minute we walked in we were greeted with warming hospitality and kindness. Our server Michelle was prompt, courteous, and tentative. The food was absolutely delicious and amazing. Perfect portion size, this is THE authentic restaurant that Antioch has brought into this town!!!! It’s Amazing the restaurant is raffling a Michael Kors purse for Mother’s Day!! Very gracious for Casa Ruiz for doing that. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for authentic Mexican food!! ????????
I was completely satisfied and amazed with the food and service!! sorry to the other “ mexican” restaurants in the area but, i was very satisfied!! i actually saw the server michelle, give a customer a coozie for his beer!! and a hat for free!! that’s cool!!! i sometimes get a sour stomach with mexican food but honestly, not from here! i really like casa ruiz! i hope the owner reads these reviews, cause they are doing a fantastic job!! hope they stay in antioch!!! thank you guys!
Wanted some rice and beans to complete a taco dinner for the evening. They were quick to produce them to go. Price was high for the quantity of beans and rice received. I feel they saw that I was in a pinch and decided to gouge me for it. A side of beans and rice to go should be less than $10.
