The deep-fried cinnamon buns are amazing???????? I have to admit they were sweet, but they didn’t feel that heavy or oily if that makes sense. As for the steak and the potatoes, they were average. Nothing specific or surprising. Just a regular American brunch. I've also had their truffle fries, and that was really good. I’d say it’s worth a try. The chicken and waffles were good too, but get only the sweet one, not the savory one, cause the gravy is different, and that affects the whole experience a lot.
Excellent food and service! If you're looking for Kentucky atmosphere and a good place to eat downtown this is it! We got the cinnamon biscuits as an appetizer which came with 4 and were delicious! We both got sandwiches which were really good but fell apart while eating them. So beware it's just a bit messy but worth it.
We had our monthly conference of The Real Housewives of Passport Bros here and we loved everything: the food, the drinks, the service. The restaurant is beautiful. Only one thing, the AC above us was leaking and it dripped water to our table, some hit the food. We were still eating when it happened..
My wife and I decided to eat lunch here for our anniversary since it was recommended to us by so many people. We made a reservation online and when we arrived were promptly seated. Smiley was our waiter and he did a fantastic job. Our drinks were never empty and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. I ended up ordering the BBQ Shrimp and Ribs entree with a side of the smoked gouda mac and cheese. My wife ordered the Filet Medallions and both of our meals came with your choice of soup or salad. All of our food arrived quickly and tasted great. The highlights of the meal were the ribs, mac and cheese and the Filet. The shrimp was our least favorite item that we ordered, were not a fan of the spicy barbecue sauce they used on the shrimp. Since it was our anniversary we were offered a free dessert. I decided to go with the banana bourbon bread pudding and my wife ordered the cheesecake. In reality we should have only ordered one dessert since they were both huge! Each dessert tasted fresh and they both were very good with the banana bread pudding being our favorite. Overall, our experience with Carson's was fantastic and we already plan on coming back!
This experience was by far one of the greatest of my life! The food was exquisite and the ambiance was perfect! The Caprese Salad was the best we've ever had! The pesto and Burrata cheese combination was an explosion in your mouth. The Creole Filet was heaven on a plate! The Cajun style sauce that came with this steak was so damn flavorful, we even tossed the Mac-n-Cheese in it. That sauce elevated everything! I'd buy that by the gallon if possible. The beer was crisp and refreshing and the wife's Blueberry Lemon Drops were her favorite drink...EVER! To top it off, the Peanut Butter Pie was the most delectable and richest dessert we've ever had. We're already looking at flights back to Lexington from Vegas, just to experience this place again. Claire took great care of us. She was training a new waitress, Carrie (Kari?) and is definitely teaching her the correct way! Hats off to this restaurant!!
Absolutely great food at reasonable prices! Recipes are cleverly unique. The atmosphere is fun and a bit noisy. Great place to try some new bourbons. Service is top-notch. We'll be planning dinner here again soon.
Found this gem on a road trip. It was on Easter and was quite busy. We did not make a reservation but they found a way to seat us. We had the Grilled Romaine and Ahi Tuna Lettuce Wraps. Both were really good. The best thing though was the dessert Kentucky Derby Pie Bites. It was a generous portion of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and surrounded by the crispy gooey warm bites. I would go back just for that. There was a sign on the mirror in the bathroom that said “You look beautiful today”. It made me smile.. it was quite noisy and very hard to have a conversation sitting across from my sister. Other than that I highly recommend Carson’s.
I was yet again blown away by the exquisite taste of the food and drinks. It's clear that this restaurant consistently delivers high-quality dishes.
