What a fun find!! We went about 4:00 pm on a Sunday and there was live music! The song that was being sung at the time reminded me of one of my favorite Jimmy Buffett songs, "God's Own Drunk'. It has a very eclectic vibe, which I absolutely loved! It is like sitting in your friend's backyard. The staff was all super nice and made sure we were taken care of. The food was happy comfort food for me! Bonus was the sweet love of a dog, Parker, who was so patient and let me give him all the pets and cuddles! We will definitely be making this a stop whenever we are in the neighborhood!
Nothing better than Captain Stans, especially when you are served by the Captain himself. Sitting outdoors surrounded by trees on the patio is definitely a great choice for a few beverages and a huge burgers. Love this place!
It was one of the most unique restaurants I've visited in a long time. The food was decent and fairly priced. The staff was friendly and we didn't wait long for service. It is a great place to stop after a motorcycle ride.
Bartender ignored my girlfriend and another lady with us. One of the men was able to get service. Then our server walked out. The bartender was more interested in cutting up limes than getting our drinks. Wouldn't go back. Shame, I went a couple years ago and it was good.
I have to admit this is definitely a unique place to stop and eat. It has a great outdoor sitting area with lots of great things to look at. Most of all the food is great. Loved the X-Large tater with cheese and pork, burgers looked great and the fish sandwich had a great flavor. Great food and service. Would definitely love to eat here again!
Two years ago we stumbled upon Captain Stan's by taking the backroads. People often ask us why because it's longer. Places like this are exactly why.
Today we had the pleasure to visit again. If you want incredible BBQ and service, this is it!
They smoke their meat for 10 hours. Fall off the bone delicious! Homemade Sauces were delish, too! Enjoyed my collards and slaw although added Texas Pete's Pepper sauce to them all.
Donny said his burger was phenomenal too.
Nadia was our server. Attentive, charming and doted on Bandera. We are gonna keep in tough with go getter that's an apprentice in the Millworkers union. Love seeing women in the trades!
Leftovers to boot and very reasonable. Highly recommend! In fact, we have already talked about visiting again and going gator or boar hunting with the owner ????
Get there early or you will be waiting. Lots of people great food
The best barbecue we've had and in such a unique, warm atmosphere. We first visited years ago, and the food never disappoints. It's comfort food we keep coming back for. The holy trinity bowl and ribs are our go-tos. Captain Stan's dog (I think his name is Parker?) is such a sweet boy and clearly is living the best life, full of BBQ samples and affection from all the guests!
