WOW first time here, visiting CT with my girlfriend, one of her favorite places. I tried the calm pizza and WOW awesome full of flavor, cheese and Clams. Well worth the drive from Maryland. We will be back

I used to go here all the time back in the 80's and 90's, first time visiting since moving back to CT after 25 years in Maryland. I ordered a large bacon pizza and it was as good as it was in the past. Crust had a nice crispness, sauce was flavorful, plenty of cheese and the bacon was cooked perfectly. I'm glad I finally got to return to Captains and will definitely be back.
Sadly, after more than 50 years of going to this place it has closed down and I al deeply sad about it. I feel like I lost a dear friend.
This is hands down the best pizza around. I grew up on Captain's Pizza. I now live in NJ but whenever I visit my buddy who lives in Bridgeport I make sure to get pizza for the two of us. The pizza is cooked in a pan so the crust comes up a little and is crunchy. The toppings are always great and the sauce not to salty or sweet. I'm always mad that I get full when I eat Captain's pizza because I always want to eat more. If this place ever closes I don't know what I'll do. Just go there and eat a pizza. . . the house special is outstanding but even a plain cheese is soo good.
Great place to grab Pizza and sandwiches. This Captains is better than the one on main street in Bridgeport (My opinion). Very helpful and clean Inside. I ordered an Chicken Parm with Bacon very good.
I must say, their sausage pizza is excellent. The sausage is real Italian sausage. You can taste it!! There are no waitresses. You must pay for your food before you sit down. Pick your own seat. I appreciate the real sausage on the pizza.
I don't live in CT anymore but hands down, this is one of my favorite pizza places EVER! I used to order from here weekly and I miss it. Food was always fresh and flavorful and the staff was nice. Quick service. Even if you have to go out of your way it's worth it!
