Best authentic Cajun gumbo around. Great hushpuppies and Cajun potato salad was great too… The owner is very personable and so was his wait… better Cajun food then I have paid twice as much for in Saint Joe at Bourdeaux… this place is very authentic.
We've now visited twice, and we lived closer it would definitely be more!
Delicious food, small town prices, what more could you want (most of the menu prices include a drink)
Atmosphere is very casual, great for kids or anyone.
I also didn't realize this our first visit, but they have a dedicated gluten free fryer and most of their breaded items use cornmeal instead of flour.

Everyone was so nice, I wanted to love this place. Got the sample platter: shrimp was well seasoned and cooked great! Soft shell crab was mushy and pasty. Gator was so tough you couldn't chew it. I've had gator so many times, have never had gator that rubbery before. The house made side sauces were phenomenal though. There's potential there, just maybe stick to the shrimp and skip the gator & crab.
I had extremely high expectations for this place as seafood is definitely one of my weaknesses. I got the sampler with gator bites, fried shrimp, & frog legs. Was extremely let down once receiving my food. I should have taken a picture and am now kicking myself in the butt because I didn’t. I had 4 pieces of gator bites, 4 pieces of shrimp, & 1 set of frog legs for $18.99. My husband had the Cajun Philly cheese steak which was massive but his fries were burnt. We were extremely let down as this was our first time here. Food was good overall but the price for the portion I got was disappointing.
I'm not much for putting reviews on so this is saying something right here. Spices were on point and food tasted amazing!!! I was extremely impressed with how quickly it was made and how it all tasted. We've been going to Boudreaux's in St Joe..... their Sweet Tea MIGHT be a little bit better than here but that's all they may have on this place..... I can't wait to try their fried soft shell crab next. I go to Louisiana/Texas next month so we'll see if this middle of nowhere Kansas place compares to the heart of Cajun food. If I could go back every day I would but I'll settle for every couple of weeks!
Yall don't be afraid of trying middle of nowhere places..... cus this one will absolutely not dissapoint it will leave you fat, happy, and shocked!
I was a little skeptical at first, but I got the blackened shrimp poboy and the mac and cheese bites. I'll have to get a half sandwich next time for sure, but both items were great, especially for being in Kansas.
The owner seems like a cool guy, and chatted with me while I waited for my order to be made. This is a great small business to support.
Date night at Cajun Food Coma. Food was delicious!! Finally made it over to try their food. Not just Cajun Spiced food, but a Cajun Bayou flavor profile. Great service and a great dinner. Will be back.
