Ordered 4 sweet pork salads… their classic that should’ve been easy.
My wife’s came with an 8oz chunk of completely unshredded pork.
Mine came with Chicken instead of pork.
Not sure why this would be this wrong for their most ordered item.
Going in for my late night sweet pork burrito, ask for no beans extra rice, thinking they entered it in wrong I checked my receipt and saw they heard me correct, I found little to no meat in my burrito, honestly a disappointment and probably won’t be coming back here
Edit: I started making the most of my burrito and bit down on something hard only to find a chunk of plastic, I know the employees don’t want to be there, but come on, do better
You can never go wrong with Cafe Rio. Amazing new items on the menu to spruce up your entree! Loved the avocado salsa and fajita roasted veggies. Highly recommend. I can’t judge the service here though since we went after a graduation and it was way busier than a normal day. Still, nice folks.
Had a very bad experience at the Provo Cafe Rio today. I ordered ahead of time on the app so that it would be ready when I arrived. I arrived right on time to pick up my meal and there was a crowd surrounding the to-go area. Apparently they were behind on the web orders. I had to wait almost 30 minutes after my scheduled pickup time to receive my order. In that time, I asked the cashier if I could speak with the manager about the long wait, but she told me he was on the other side of the kitchen. I asked if she could flag him down for me and she said he was busy. I finally got my order - without an apology or anything. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service and efficiency. Definitely don't do a web order during the lunch hour if you need to be anywhere soon.
We love Cafe Rió. However, the service at this location, on this evening, was horrible. It was busy. I don’t mind the wait; it’s to be expected. The young woman (Christine or Christina) obviously hates her job. She flung the ingredients into the tortillas, with a scowl on her face. No greeting, no patience. Customer service is key. This location’s management needs to let their employees know this important fact.
It’s amazing to me that places like this stay in business. They don’t care about their customers, I’d go as far as to say the owners don’t care about their employees and in turn their employees don’t enjoy their job or care about the customers. I went through the drive through and ordered a quesadilla and got…whatever this is. A chunk of pork and some sauce thrown in. There’s hardly any cheese and it’s not even cut. The owners could learn some things from the new PG location.
Last Saturday night was a big disappointment. My husband actually got sick from his salad. The lettuce was finely shredded, perhaps to disguise the fact that it definitely wasn’t fresh! We don’t care for finely shredded lettuce but it was all they had.
We both ordered steak salads, and the steak was also not fresh and tasted off. They ran out and had to bring more up to the line and the kind I got was quite dry and spicy and much different from the steak I’ve had in the past.
We have had some great salads from Cafe Rio in the past with generally fresh ingredients, but this time the food was not fresh at all.
Also the employee who served up our salads appeared irritated when we asked her to melt cheese on our tortillas. This has happened before…
Fortunately, I didn’t eat all my salad and didn’t get sick like my husband did.
Holy cow. I am in love. I really wish we had one of these close to where I live in NC. The food is spectacular! It’s so cool to watch them make the tortillas fresh in front of you, they are some of the best tortillas I’ve ever had.
The portion sizes are amazing and I loved the flavor combinations. DEFINITELY get their green sauce, it is TO DIE for!
