Came into town for a concert and found this little gem. Our server (Maddie I think her name was) was Great! Food was delicious. Mashed potatoes were a little cold but overall We left full and happy. Definitely got our moneys worth. They even had a live band setting up as we were leaving. Ohh bathrooms were exceptionally clean. We will visit again if ever in the area.
We stopped in here for lunch after a business meeting and were very pleased. The dining atmosphere was quiet and spacious. The wall decor was tasteful and displayed nicely. The food was delicious. Our associate introduced up to peppers and oil on soft white bread. I had the Chicken Parmesan with penne pasta; which was one of the best Chicken Parmesan I have ever had. The service was outstanding and our waitress was prompt and very helpful. I would highly recommend eating here for anyone looking for a authentic Italian meal. I will definitely be back on our next trip.
Having traveled all over the world, I am often in places where I have never been. I have learned to explore and discover great restaurants, wine bars, attractions, and other adventures.
I discovered a wonderful place that ended up being way beyond my expectations. Cafe 422 in Warren, Ohio. It has been a culinary fixture in this part of the world for 85 years. That is pretty impressive.
My servers at the bar, Michelle, and Lisa, tag teamed me and left me wanting for nothing. They were attentive, professional, and very engaging. Their service only enhanced my experience, and I am planning to go back tomorrow and a few more times this week. Yes, it was that good.
I started my Thanksgiving dinner with a glass of Ruffino Prosecco. To me, bubbly, serves any occasion. They offered a three course menu with many options. I chose the Braised Lamb Shank with Mushroom Risotto, Green Beans, Au Jus. Served with a salad. Paired with wonderful Alpha Zeta Amarone della Valpolicella.
For dessert I had a coconut cream pie, which was over-the-top delicious. paired with a snifter of Grand Marnier. I love that Lisa presented it in a snifter, the only way it should be offered.
If you are traveling to the Youngstown/Niles Ohio area, I would highly recommend this restaurant. They are open for both lunch and dinner, and have many different options to satisfy any pallet. Their bar is well stocked with great selections of beer, wine and spirits. The atmosphere is warm and inviting that sure please every guest. Check it out. I hope to see you there.
Family met for dinner to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. Nice atmosphere. Great service. I have enjoyed their Eggplant Parmesan for many years! Servers were kind enough to bring out birthday cake and serve. Great Sunday afternoon.
Had a wonderful holiday lunch here and absolutely all of our food was delicious. One of the best restaurants I have been to. I ordered the lamb medium rare and it was so juicy and was easily the most flavorful lamb I've ever had. The grilled octopus was delicious and tasted so fresh. The aged Manhattan is one of the best I've ever had. The creme brulee was also quite tasty and they give you quite a large amount of it. Will definitely be going back very soon!
What a pleasant Wednesday evening meal! This venue will be back on top of your list for dining as the updates to the atmosphere put you in a relaxed mood and the menu does not disappoint. A little old world vibe and well trained staff made the evening with friends a great experience. Quiet, quick, and easy with a good wine list, full bar with a number of specialty cocktails, and a kitchen that performed well deserves our 5 star rating. From the fresh bread and hot peppers, to the many entree choices and tasty dessert options, we think you’ll begin to warm up to cafe 422 just like we rave about Vernon’s and Leo’s. Good choice for spring 2024 ! Our server, Michelle, was outstanding.
Had a little bit of a wait to be seated. They had a live band playing so my wife enjoyed the music while we waited, then to our surprise the owner came by and poured us complimentary glasses of wine. That was a first for us. The wait was worth it. The food & service was top notch despite how busy they were. We went home very happy. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
First of all this place is so wonderful! Jessica M. Was an amazing waitress and was ready to make our visit perfect! The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic. And the portions are HUGE!!!! Definitely worth the price and I will be back to try something else next time.
