Best WLM Reviews

Whenever I visit DC, I look up the nearest B&P.
I had the occasion to catch up with an old friend and was thrilled we came upon this one tucked in the corner of several food shops and near a theater.
While we didn't eat this time, I browsed the books. I was greeted when I entered the area, and the attendant was kind and professional in answering my questions about purchasing and shipping merchandise.
While there are no real Busboys anymore, the literary and community flavor may have you catching a Poet or two one night. So whether going for just a cocktail, or a full meal, Busboys & Poets is a good bet for some good eats, and good company.
And you might even learn something new!
The breakfast experience at Busboys and Poets was delightful! The Salmon Egg Benedict was a highlight with its delicious flavors. However, the fried chicken was disappointingly dry and lacked flavor. The Chai Latte, while enjoyable, leaned a bit too much on the sweet side and could have used a stronger chai flavor.
Good spot in the Sherlington area. Lots of vegan options, food quality was good. It is actually bigger inside then it looks. For all to go orders they do charge a service free. Over all I would go back to dine in.
First time coming to Busboys & Poets for lunch and it was amazing!!!! I really like the mini bookstore vibes coupled with a diner atmosphere. There are salads, soups, paninis, sandwiches, burgers, bowls, & more. It’ll be hard to figure out what to order because you’ll want to try it all! I really liked their bowls, specifically the “beef” bowl the way the sautéed the mushrooms sooooo good. Lots of vegan, vegetarian, & gluten friendly options to choose from as well. Very health conscious and considerate of all eating lifestyles. Love their unique juice mixes & teas. It gets busy on the weekends so keep that in mind.
Update: they don’t take phone orders
Taste and Ingredients:
The vegan avocado and cheese sandwich was nothing short of a revelation. Each bite into the toasted bread revealed a creamy, rich layer of avocado paired with a surprisingly authentic-tasting vegan cheese. The contrast of textures and the balance of flavors were meticulously crafted, showcasing the kind of culinary craftsmanship I’ve come to appreciate. It’s a dish that speaks volumes of the care in selecting quality, plant-based ingredients without compromising on the taste front.
The tomato basil soup served as the perfect counterpart to the sandwich. Its robust tomato base, accentuated with just the right touch of basil, offered a comforting warmth.
Delivery:
Opting for home delivery, I was impressed by the efficiency and care in packaging. The meal arrived promptly, with each component securely and sustainably packaged, ensuring that the quality of the food was preserved. It’s a minor detail, but one that speaks to the ethos of Busboys and Poets’ commitment to sustainability and customer satisfaction.
Joined my coworkers here to eat and work during a snow day. The food & drinks were delicious! Service was perfect. Wifi connection was fast. Will definitely be visiting again. We had the sweet potato pancakes & the Oaxaca omelette with the cheddar jalapeño grits. For drinks we did a cappuccino & a matcha latte. Edited to add more photos because I ended up visiting again 2 days later!
We ordered some very tasty vegan and gluten-free food from a variety of dishes on their menu. It was very enjoyable: vegan nachos and vegetable quinoa bowl. Nice concept and atmosphere.
Food was pretty good. Maybe I had super high expectation for the vegetarian pasta. I felt it didn’t have enough fake meat on the sauce or it was alright. Garlic bread was good tho. The cauliflower appetizer ???? was delicious with that aoli yum. The dc flat drink was alright, strong but maybe that’s how folks like it. My friend got some beef vegan bowl. The fake beef reminded me of tosino. Which is pretty cool. The ambiance is def homey. Why I didn’t give 5 stars is we got pasta, veggie bowl, 2 cocktails, and 2 appetizers. Not all of them were absolute hits but it’s pretty good. I’d come back just to try the other veggie options.
