Very cool place to eat I like to eat local as a traveling AG equipment salesman, food was phenomenal! Atmosphere and service was the best definitely will be back next time I am in the area seeing my customers, if you have never been or traveling through it is most certainly worth the stop!
Walking into this joint was disorienting. You walk in and there is this bar area. When I went it was full of locals and it felt like we were in a movie. Everyone stoped and stared at us. We had to walk to the other room to eat. We had 5 ppl in our group and none of the table would fit us. One of us had to sit in the main isle. The table and floors were sticky and fixtures and pictures were dusty. Honestly I can’t believe I ate here… but I did… just for you guys so I could write a review. Hahaha
I ordered the A1 Jack Burger. It was good. The waffle fries are the way to go. The Dixie burger was yummy too. Everyone was good with their burgers. One Notorious bear burger as ordered and it was HUGE. He ended up taking half of it home
Brown Bear is done of the best eating between Muskegon and Ludington. They've got a ton of tasty burgers, a foot long hotdog called "The Big Sexy", along with your typical bar food basics. Stop in and check it out for yourself. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.
After sightseeing around Mears & Silver Lake State Park, My sister & I stopped here to get bite to eat. First we got cauliflower bites. Those were so good. I ordered BBQ Chicken Breast with side of steamed veggies & sweet potato fries. ????. Service was GREAT.

Bathrooms are a bit rustic. But hey, who cares when the food and service are so fantastic.
Absolutely amazing burgers. This is a must stop for us when we are in the Silver Lake area. I always go for the notorious bear burger. Cooked and seasoned perfectly it is over a pound. One of the best burgers in the state of Michigan. If you are in the Silver Lake area DO NOT miss the Brown Bear. Located in Pentwater and Shelby.
My girlfriend and I went here and I got "The notorious bear burger" and she ordered the smaller version "The cub". It was pretty good. I ate the whole thing in about 10 minutes or so. It's definitely possible to finish the entire thing if you want to test your stomachs limits a little bit. We both felt like our chairs were going to break if we moved wrong as we were sitting at one of the higher up tables so that wasn't great, but other than that the food wasn't bad. Onion rings were nothing special just thin breaded with a thin slice of onion in them. The fries were your typical fries also. It's a one time place for us, but glad I tried the burger.
They were really nice and they were very friendly there food is so good I would come here every day if I could they were not slow the food was to my table really fast
