Loved the old school chipped beef and creamy gravy on rye toast. Also tried the spinach and cheese quiche. Watermelon & cantaloupe on the side was crisp and refreshing.
Food tastes ok. Good portions for prices. Went a couple times. Wouldn’t come back again tho because the waitress didn’t come back to check in on us until we were finished. Then they have the audacity to ask for a tip. Didn’t even give us a couple of more napkins after they dropped of our food. No thank you. It is not my problem that you work for tips. In my opinion do better if you want tips.
Hands down, Rilee is my new favorite waitress! Very attentive, smart and sweet! The food was really good, well made and fresh. If we didn't live so far away, this would easily be one of our regulars.
I have an allergy to eggs. I asked the waitress if instead of eggs I could have tomatoes and she was very rude and said I can't substitute. Came back to the table only once ask for napkins she kind of threw them down. The service was horrible The food was even worse I had the biscuits and gravy and it was out of a can. The biscuits were cold. My husband had the chopped steak and eggs and potatoes. The potatoes were just awful. We will not be going back to this place and not recommending it to anyone
This is one of those places you visit because it's the local neighborhood diner; where the dining room looks like it hasn't been updated since the Reagan years; the waitresses all know you by name and know your usual order; and where you know the patrons are all the same people from the neighborhood that have been coming here weekly for decades.
You don't eat here because it's gourmet. You eat here because it's familiar and it feels like home, and really, that's what a good diner should do.
Nice local place! The ladies are always super kind, they help each other and make sure all the tables are good. The food is fast and good, fair prices too.
My family comes to this restaurant very often. But today the waitress was so sweet and has a conversation with my son about sprinkles on pancakes. My son Elias ecstatic to think they listened to his comment and was going to see about ordering sprinkles. The food is always so good, fresh and very cheap. We would recommend this place to anyone. It’s small but homey. Feels like my grandma is in the kitchen cooking. When family comes in to visit we always come to Broken Yolk. Thank you ladies for your great service and food.
Be careful going in there, I left my wallet with $300 end credit cards at the cash register, it was only me and the waitress when I realized my wallet was missing I went back in and my wallet was gone! 7:00 a.m. in the morning and no one else was in there besides me and her plus the cook,no customers.
I asked to speak to the manager but was denied video access because they knew she had taken it and they were all in on it.... SMH
Ps: the corned beef hash gave me bubble guts ???? would "Not" recommend.
