The Bridge of Lions located in beautiful St Augustine is a sight to see both from the water and while crossing. We recommend walking part or all of this magnificent structure and if you are lucky you’ll see it drawn up close!
Made me want to bring home a special postcard or T-shirt of the bridge of lions a beautiful site! If you forget to buy something while touring beautiful Saint Augustine this artist who will customize your photos and do all this online through his Redbubble store. Cool stuff!
This ornate and historic draw bridge is a symbol of the city of St Augustine. During peak times, and when the draw bridge is up there can be some traffic congestion. I strongly recommend walking the bridge over to Anastasia Island, as the views of the city & island beyond are quite incomparable and a walking lane is provided on both sides of the road.
Cool bridge. They had a replica of the diversity that Magellan used to circumnavigate the globe, which I thought would be cooler than it was. Kind of disappointed in that old old wooden ship.
Was very interesting see the process of lifting part of the bridge so that a boat could pass to the other side. It was a little bit of a waiting but not that much. I also did a walk to observe the area early in the morning, so beautiful. This place is highly recommended to visit
The Bridge of Lions stands as a captivating landmark in St. Augustine, seamlessly connecting the Matanzas River with the vibrant downtown area.
The surroundings of the bridge offer spectacular views, and I had the fortunate opportunity to capture its beauty in the serene morning, the golden hues of the evening, and the enchanting night lights.
This iconic structure, the Bridge of Lions, is not only a visual delight but also holds deep historical and architectural significance within the fabric of St. Augustine. Its enduring charm contributes to the rich tapestry of this historic city.
Beautiful historic draw bridge across the bay to Anastasia Island on the Atlantic Coast.
Beautiful feature that shows great form AND function! The bridge is walkable, and the lion features and other details are wonderful to see. The wind blows across the bridge, so it does make for a nice walk, and you’ll see joggers and bicyclists making use of it. Do take a look, even if you just drive by!
This is a pretty cool bridge, we got to see it open up and a few boats went through. The lion statues are pretty cool.
