this was my second stop on my tour of Portland breweries and I was greatly disappointed. I had such high expectations. the service was nonexistent. When I asked the bartenders about some of the specific beers, they did not have answers and walked away in mid-conversation. my burger was both overcooked and and the wrong toppings. I liked the pilsner but the rest were average. Unfortunately, the hype and expectations I had for the place were not met. Portland has no shortage of gray breweries, but I don’t think I will be returning to this one.

Really nice place to hang out and have some good beers. Would recommend folks to go with the sampler tasting tray where you can try 6 beers in each order. We ended up trying almost every beer on the menu by doing so.
Fast & efficient service.
Would definitely recommend visiting this place if you’re in Portland.
Really cool brewery in a nice neighborhood. Spacious and really well styled. Pretty tasty beer and a decent sandwich.
The place was packed but I really enjoyed my experience here. They just rolled out a new menu, but everything we tried was delicious. The fried chicken sandwich reminded me of a super upscale version of a McChicken(in the best possible way haha).
The beer was well crafted and tasty. Loved the variety. Staff were swamped but absolutely lovely people and did gave great service despite being slammed while we were there. Great spot to check out.
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, this is a super popular place so expect a wait. For interior seating, the wait was considerably less than the wait for patio seating. But when you’ve got your pup with you, you wait 30 minutes for the dog friendly seating. Well socialized dogs will do best as there was a dog under almost every one of the tables.
Once seated, it was disappointing to have waited so long for a sticky outdoor table that I had to bus myself. Water and food orders are self-service. Orders can be placed using a QR code on the table or by walking inside to the bar. The bar was hopping so it was most expedient to use the QR code. Food was underwhelming.
My experience was inconsistent with the many 5-star ratings this restaurant receives. Perhaps it’s a better spot to enjoy a flight of beers with friends. I’ll pass next time.
Let me start by saying I love Breakside beer! I even like their QR code ordering system here, and the food is decent. But the service just sucks. I called a staff member over because my food was kind of late in coming, and got a look like “people don’t call staff here.” At that exact moment my food came. The server told me “It’s pretty busy back there, ya gotta have patience.” Later my 3-year-old spilled her drink, and when I asked the same server for a towel, she gave me a sarcastic “the lid didn’t work for ya?” I figured the service should be exceptional considering you’re expected to tip even after ordering everything off your phone, but I just felt degraded. The normally exceptional beer had a bitter aftertaste.
Cool brewery and good beer! Of course we did a flight and enjoyed all the beers we tried here. It was a cool hip place to hangout and enjoy a good couple of beers with family & friends. It is kid friendly as well so you can bring your little ones.
For food we tried the drumsticks with their IPA Buffalo sauce which was really good. Also the Nachos come in a big portion size which is sharable.
They also have a good kids menu and we ordered the Mac & cheese.
Overall great experience and even bought some of their beer to go.
Good location poor food, beer ???? is okay. They use to be better.
