Best WLM Reviews
**This review is for the bar, not the restaurant.**
This bar was impressive. Very clean and organized inside. I happened like other patrons to enter it thinking it was the Cafe Des Arts, which is next door. But I stayed – I had two beers and a conversation with the bartender, who was exceptionally friendly and interesting.
Fish burger was amazing! Side salad was also very good. atmosphere was nice and cozy, perfect for winter time. Service was friendly and welcoming, very helpful with translation. Staff was very smiley and kind. Very generous portions and wine was great, with large glasses served. Cods bites with tartare sauce are ????.
Nice, cosy place.
I had the steak with sweet potato fries which were both very tasteful.
Recommend!
This review is for the bar next door;
Great location in the centre of town but away from the hustle and bustle of main tourist spots.
Offers a good selection of beers, wines and cocktails.
Outdoor seating is perfect for sunny days but also has a lovely cosy interior.
Good tunes and good atmosphere.
But I have to say the best thing about the place, for me, was the exceptional service from the lovely Elias. He immediately made me and my friends feel welcome and took the time to ensure our drinks were perfect and we had everything needed to enjoy our time at the bar. On both visits Elias really went the extra mile to make sure I had a wonderful time, can't rate this guy highly enough!
Not to be missed - I will definitely return if back in Gent! Thank you again!
Neat restaurant across from the Opera. Food is always good, get the white asparagus when it's in season. Be mindful that sometimes a hamburger is indeed a ham burger. Cool decor with the hops on the wall, a favorite place to eat when in Ghent.
The beef stew is really deliciuos. The combination with sweet potato was even perfect! The staffs here are very kind and help us to translate menu to English and also give us nice suggestion.
The mushroom sauce for the steak is AMAZING, and the scampi des arts is really, really good
Great food and friendly staff. Can get quite crowded so make a reservation. Perfect for early or late dinner.
